A warm welcome to our holiday rental, “Wallheckenblick Schatteburg,” located in the small farming village of Schatteburg in the municipality of Rhauderfehn. It is nestled in the heart of an unspoiled hedgerow landscape, not far from the Holter Hammrich Nature Reserve, where you can observe meadow birds. Right next door is “Hof Schatteburg,” where equine-assisted therapy and horse-assisted interventions are offered by appointment. A supermarket, bakery, bank, and general practitioner are just 3 km away.
During the summer season, the local “Melkhuuske” serves homemade cakes and tea or coffee on weekends. In the neighbouring village of Backemoor, which won the silver medal at the 26th national “Our Village Has a Future” competition, the 800-year-old fortified church and the restored windmill invite you to explore them. You’ll have access to well-developed bike paths and can relax, unwind, hike, bike, fish, or simply let your mind wander in the idyllic East Frisian countryside. For cultural and culinary delights, the nearby county seat of Leer is just a 12-minute drive away. The port city of Leer impresses with its museum harbour and beautiful, historic old town; Leer also became famous through the film adaptations of the “Friesland Crime Series.”
The German North Sea coast, with ferry connections to the East Frisian Islands, is just under an hour’s drive away. You’ll find more information about places to visit in our information folder on site.



Wallheckenblick Schatteburg Holiday Rental:

You’ll find a large, open living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen featuring a refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and electric kettle. The sofa can also be used as a sleeping area. The bedroom with a double bed is located on the upper floor.
A separate terrace with patio furniture and a grill is available for your use.
You can securely store the bicycles you bring with you in a lockable room. There is a charging station for e-bikes and pedelecs.
