A restored 1845, luxury 5-bedroom Palace with AC in Medieval Fivizzano, Italy
Palazzo degli Angeli (Palace of Angels) is a beautifully restored luxury guest residence where history, elegance, and timeless charm come together. Once a noble palace, this extraordinary villa has been thoughtfully transformed into an intimate retreat that celebrates authentic Tuscan heritage, with refined international influences.
Every corner of the three-story palazzo tells a story. Antiques, family heirlooms, and artwork collected from around the world are thoughtfully displayed throughout the residence, creating an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and welcoming. The result is a distinctive blend of Florentine elegance, rich history, and understated luxury.
The Palazzo is ideally located just a 6-minute walk from the enchanting medieval town of Fivizzano—often called "Little Florence"—nestled at the foot of the Apuan Alps and only a 40-minute drive from the Ligurian Sea. Approximately 1 hour from the Pisa Airport, 2 hours north of Florence, and just over an hour from the breathtaking Cinque Terre and walled city of Lucca. Following two years of extensive renovation and restoration, this Palace welcomes you in friendship, to its newly opened doors.
The villa offers five individually designed ensuite guest rooms. Two exceptionally spacious suites feature ornate king-size beds and luxurious freestanding bathtubs with showers, while three elegant rooms offer queen-size beds with beautifully appointed ensuite showers. Each bed is adorned with handcrafted headboards and decorative pieces sourced from Naples, Venice, Verona, and the Amalfi Coast. Every bathroom has its own distinctive character, showcasing furniture, sinks, and decorative elements gathered from Italy, Estonia, Morocco, and Turkey.
Most guest rooms overlook the surrounding valleys, gardens, and majestic mountain landscape, offering breathtaking views that capture the beauty of Tuscany.
Guests are welcomed into an elegant European-style living room, complete with an Honor Bar offering a selection of wines and liqueurs, as well as a reception area with complimentary coffee and tea. Throughout the Palazzo, 26 unique chandeliers sourced from Belgium, England, France, Italy, and Spain illuminate the interiors with timeless grandeur.
The peaceful angel-inspired gardens provide a tranquil sanctuary for morning reflection or a relaxing afternoon surrounded by nature. These inviting common areas are all conveniently located on the ground floor.
On the upper level, guests have access to a charming Breakfast Room, thoughtfully equipped with a small refrigerator, toaster, espresso, cappuccino and coffee machine, tea kettle, egg cooker, and a full selection of china, glassware, and cutlery. Indoor seating accommodates up to ten guests, while the magnificent terrace offers an unforgettable outdoor dining experience with sweeping views across the Tuscan countryside. Vintage wrought-iron and travertine tables and chairs complete this elegant setting. A convenient guest powder room is located adjacent to the Breakfast Room.
The Palazzo also features an extraordinary rooftop terrace offering spectacular 360-degree panoramic views. While this space is currently unfurnished, it provides an exceptional setting for photography, sunset viewing, or simply enjoying the peaceful beauty of this remarkable corner of Tuscany.
At Palazzo degli Angeli, the terraces and the views are truly unforgettable. Thanks to its elevated position, the property enjoys some of the most spectacular vistas in the region.
For much of the year, the owner resides discreetly in a private room on the first floor, separate from the guest accommodations on the ground level, and opposite the Breakfast Room. She uses the private preparation and main kitchen and quietly maintains the Breakfast Room, including dishwashing and tidying, while remaining largely out of sight to ensure guests enjoy both privacy and the feeling of having the Palazzo to themselves. For most of the year, only one owner resides on the property.
For guests seeking complete exclusivity, the entire Palazzo—including the preparation and main kitchen—may be reserved for a minimum three-night and minimum five-night stay, with the owners residing off-site. Dates vary so please contact the owners, Michele and Michelle, directly for availability and details. This exclusive property rental is an authentic Tuscan "whole palace" experience, and the only one of its kind here in Medieval Fivizzano. Wonderful for festive friend and family gatherings and reunions, especially for the holidays, as well as retreats , special occasions, and celebrations throughout the year.
Should you have any questions, we would be delighted to hear from you.
