They live in a house that was built as far back as 1916 and is home to a wealth of stories and memories.
It is located behind a historic archway in the heart of Ruit and has a nostalgic charm. It was built as a cooper’s workshop and used as such; it remains in the family’s possession to this day. The workshop was located on the ground floor of the building, while a small apartment was built and occupied on the ground floor in the 1950s. In 1982, the entire building was renovated, and the attic was also converted into additional living space. The cottage was lovingly remodeled to preserve it for the future. Since then, renovation work has been carried out continuously, but always with the aim of preserving the character of the house.
The cosy living/dining room with exposed beams, as well as the kitchen and a bathroom, are located on the ground floor, creating a separation between the lively and quiet areas. The ground floor is a great place to watch TV and enjoy meals together, while the bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor offer a quieter and more intimate atmosphere.

The sloped ceiling gives the bedroom and the built-in small workspace a cosy and inviting feel. The workspace is particularly practical, as it provides a quiet space for focused work without having to stray too far from the sleeping area ;)

Located in the heart of Ruit, the house is ideally situated with short distances to shopping and a tram stop within walking distance, making everyday life very convenient and practical. At the same time, the proximity to the state capital Stuttgart, historic Esslingen, and the airport offers many advantages in terms of job opportunities, cultural offerings, and travel options. The cottage’s convenient location makes daily life easier, thanks to the opportunities Ruit has to offer. Very close by are a dry cleaner, chemist, supermarket, hair salon, post office, flower shop, bakery, and various restaurants.

The proximity to the hospital and the main road to Stuttgart certainly brings some noise with it, such as ambulance sirens or traffic noise. Some guests may find this disruptive, while others may accept it as part of living close to the city.
