Our guest floor is a self-contained level of a character home, with two ensuite bedrooms (King Room and Queen Room), and a self-serve guest lounge with a fridge, kettle, dishes, and cutlery. A rear entry from the lounge leads out to a covered deck and shared garden, with a propane BBQ and seating dedicated for guest use. The guest floor is separate from the owner's living space upstairs, with its own private entrance.

Guests have full access to the entire guest floor when booking both suites: both bedrooms, the guest lounge, and the rear entry to the covered deck and garden. The garden and BBQ are shared with the owner's residence but reserved for guest use. Each exterior door and bedroom door is secured with an individual keypad entry code, provided before check-in. The main and upper floors of the home are the owner's private residence and are not part of the guest stay.

The owner lives on-site and is available throughout your stay for questions, local recommendations, or help with anything you need — but guest stays are self-serve by design, so you'll have full privacy on the guest floor. Check-in and check-out details, door codes, and WiFi access are sent digitally before arrival, and the owner is happy to greet guests in person on request.

Crofton is a quiet seaside village on Vancouver Island's east coast, right at the Salt Spring Island ferry terminal — a great base whether you're day-tripping to the Gulf Islands or exploring the mainland side. Stroll the Crofton Boardwalk along the water, just steps from the inn, or browse the murals and boutiques of Chemainus, a 10-minute drive south. The Cowichan Valley wine and cider region is about 20 minutes away, with award-winning wineries and farm markets, and cyclists can pick up the Cowichan Valley Trail nearby. It's a laid-back small-town setting — the kind of place where you can watch the ferry come in, walk to dinner, and fall asleep to the water.

A car is the easiest way to explore the wider region (Chemainus, Duncan, and the wine country are all a short drive away), but you won't need one for the ferry — the Salt Spring Island terminal is about a 2-minute walk from the inn. Free public parking is available right on Joan Avenue; just follow the posted municipal signs. Nanaimo is about 35 minutes north and Victoria roughly 65 minutes south, both accessible by highway.

No smoking anywhere on the property, including the guest floor, lounge, and yard.
No candles, incense, or open flames in the guest rooms.
There's no on-site laundry; the nearest laundromat is about one block away.
