Guests have full access to the entire house. This includes kitchen, living room, dining room and 3 bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom.

The Space:
As the name suggests, Casa del Desierto is decorated with a desert theme, from an intricate mural in the entranceway to a variety of rustic imagery throughout the house.

The house is 3 floors, plus the rooftop terrace with ocean view. This spacious rooftop is a great place to hang out and spend the afternoon barbecuing with friends and family or soaking in the hot tub and enjoying the sunset.

As you arrive, a staircase leads up to the main entrance on the second floor, which opens up into a living and dining room with a fully-stocked kitchen and an ample countertop. There is a small outdoor lounge on the second floor balcony, and the master bedroom on the third floor also has its own balcony.

There is also a laundry room on the ground floor with a washer and drier. There are air conditioning units in every room of the house.

We take pride in using non-toxic cleaning supplies, providing a healthier and more natural alternative, while being just as effective to synthetic-based conventional cleaners.

We are making efforts towards water conservation in La Paz. We are adopting water-efficient technologies, growing mostly native vegetation in our decorative gardens, promoting responsible water usage, and building urban rainwater capture basins.

Finally, we provide canvas grocery bags you can use in your trips to the local stores, farmer’s and fish markets.

The Neighborhood:
Only a block away from the boardwalk promenade, Casa del Desierto is in a quiet neighborhood with very little noise. Essentially, the promenade is your neighborhood.

On the promenade you can find a variety of restaurants and bars, as well as kayak and paddleboard rentals.

The restaurant Tailhunter, a very popular expat hangout, is located on the block across the street on the sidewalk facing the promenade. There is a tiny seafood stand on the right side of the same block (as you face the promenade), which has excellent ceviche, and makes for a very local food experience.

If you take a right onto the promenade you’ll head towards the main tourist area, which is about 5 blocks away (a 5-minute walk) and 2 blocks inland.

You’ll be able to find the local market, Aramburo, as well as all our favorite restaurnants, including Tres Virgenes, Prana, and Sorstis, as well the hip coffee shop Doce Cuarenta. Don’t forget to try the fantastic pork tamales from the vendor that sets up just outside Aramburo.

The farmer’s market sets up just outside Doce Cuarenta the mornings of every Tuesday and Saturday. There are some excellent meat and vegetable stands, as well as various shops selling all kinds of housewares and handmade items.

To the boardwalk , restaurants, bars, downtown and main square where the cathedral and plaza are located, the farmer´s market, municipal market and supermarket: All are at WALKING DISTANCE.To the outlying beaches: You can drive, or take a taxi, or a tour. Life in a Mexican Neighborhood
We stayed 6 weeks and really got to know the space and neighborhood. Ana was a real “rock star”! She responded quickly and effectively to the few issues we had. The gate to the front terrace was broken and she brought repairmen in with a welder to fix it! The kitchen is supplied with basic utensils. I like to cook so hit one of the many local houseware/department stores for a few more kitchen supplies, which I left behind. The few things we asked to have repaired are those staying just a few days will simply overlook. As someone who also has a VRBO and is staying long term, I hope it was appreciated that I brought them to the owner’s attention. This home is very clean but could use some minor refreshing. The operator manual needs updating, chipped dish ware needs replacing, some screen doors did not fit well and the draperies needed hooks and were hard to open and close. The kitchen could use some counter task lighting. This is the first time we’ve stayed in a neighborhood in Mexico, so the car alarms and barking dogs are something to get used to. Bring industrial grade ear plugs! The building in front obstructs what would be a panoramic view from the top terrace but blocks much of the noise at night from the nearby Malacon. Instead, it has two million dollar views! The hot tub is wonderful, but can take up to three hours to heat. With the many excellent shops and restaurants nearby we found a car unnecessarily, unless it’s to visit the beautiful towns and beaches nearby.

Family vacation
Great property and location. Host was amazing communicator. Very clean and exactly as advertised. Even came with extras like a welcome cake and some coffee. Only issue was the dogs next door barking a lot, but that's not the fault of the property. Would stay again.

Fantastic home in La Paz
My girlfriends and I come to La Paz once a year for anual Dr. Appointments and to shop. This house was perfect for us with total privacy bedrooms and on suites. We didn’t have much time to spend there as we did a lot of running around, but definitely reserve it next year if available. Property mgr. Monica was very responsive and an excellent host!!

My name is Monica. I grew up in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, and have lived La Paz in 2008.

Since then, I've grown roots into the community through educational programs and efforts to advance environmental conscience in the form of organic gardens, recycling, and sustainable water-management practices.

We take pride in using non-toxic cleaning supplies, providing a healthier and more natural alternative, while being just as effective to synthetic-based conventional cleaners.

As La Paz doesn’t have a city recycling program, we go the extra mile and arrange for recycling ourselves. We offer recycling bins for our guests, which we then transport to proper recycling facilities outside of town.We are making efforts towards water conservation in La Paz.
