Holiday villa "Fabrikantenhaus"

Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the "Ferien im Baudenkmal" foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.
Public transport: There are bus routes from Herisau to Schwellbrunn "Dorf".
Bicycle: A separate lockable bicycle room with charging station for e-bikes is available.
By car: Coming from Herisau, take the main road "Schwellbrunnerstrasse" via Hohrain to the village, turn right at "Geren"
Car park: There are various public car parks in the village of Schwellbrunn. Some are right next to the Fabrikantenhaus. A parking permit must be obtained from the municipality to use the car park. You can drive up to the front of the house to unload your luggage.
Up to 9 persons: 5-6 bedrooms. On the 1st floor 1 room with single bed (100x200) / 1st study with 1 single bed (90x200)/ 2nd floor 2x double room (180x200)and 1x single room (120x200). In the curtain room (connecting room to two bedrooms), if desired 1 double room with two single beds (90x200) - it serves either as a bedroom or as a second parlour. There is enough space for a cot. Baby cot and chair available on request.
Extras: The ceiling height in the living area, kitchen, office and single bedroom (third floor) is very low (approx. 185 cm). There are several cultural rooms on the ground floor which can be rented for a maximum of 50 guests. The height of the rooms is rather low.
Important addition: The "Fabrikantenhaus" is a historic house, a listed building. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, we would like to point out that certain functional details such as window and door openers, stair handrails and step heights do not comply with current standards - in particular the height of the rooms - and may harbour a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the Stiftung Ferien im Baudenkmal decline any liability.
