The Zechenhaus, Germany

You’ll find this picturesque coal-miner’s house nestled among meadows, fields, and forests between the villages of Neudorf and Dankerode. Here you can enjoy your getaway in absolute tranquility, far from the noise and hustle and bustle, and wake up each morning to a view of nature and one or more four-legged neighbors.
Your warm and welcoming hosts include not only Isabel and Michael, but also horses, a pony, a donkey, goats, and the family’s two dogs. 
Four-legged companions—whether dogs or horses—are warmly welcome at the Zechenhaus.
The hosts are also happy to take experienced riders on a horseback ride through the countryside around Dankerode.

This lovingly run mini-farm is the perfect destination for a nature-filled, active, or simply relaxing holiday in the green Selke Valley. Your hosts can also arrange a horse-drawn carriage ride for you in town.



The Zechenhaus:

The holiday rental is simply furnished yet comfortable. The living and dining areas are combined in one room, featuring a sitting area and a couch for a cosy end to the evening.
There are two separate bedrooms with one double bed and two single beds, and there is space to add a rollaway bed for a child.
The bathroom, which includes a shower and toilet, is tiled and newly renovated, as is the rest of the holiday rental. All other rooms have laminate flooring. The holiday rental is a smoke-free property; however, outdoor seating is available with a view of the four-legged neighbors.
Electric heater usage is billed separately.


Access to the holiday rental is via a separate entrance through the courtyard. You can also drive right up to the property upon arrival and departure, and park in the courtyard during your stay. All rooms are accessible via an entryway (no walk-through rooms). The living and dining areas are located in one room with a sitting area and a couch for a cosy end to the evening.

Check-in is from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00, and check-out is from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
