Ideal starting point for excursions in various directions: “Allgäumetropölchen” Kempten, the Allgäu High Alps, Nebelhorn, the Nagelfluh Range, the Allgäu Hiking Trilogy, the Allgäu lakes (e.g., Niedersonthofener See, Alpsee, etc.), Oberstaufen, Oberstdorf, Füssen with its castles, and Lake Constance, approximately 50 km away. Plenty of hiking trails starting right from the house, with many alpine inns—from spring through fall.
