The chalet is situated in Hohentauern, a small, picturesque mountain village in Styria, at an altitude of 1,274 meters, amid the impressive mountain scenery and pristine nature of the Niedere Tauern.

In winter, Styria becomes the 'white heart' of Austria, boasting beautiful ski resorts. The Hohentauern ski area, with 11 kilometres of slopes, is within walking distance (the ski lift is less than 200 meters from the chalet) and features wide, groomed slopes of all difficulty levels, as well as numerous deep-snow variants. Other ski areas in the region include the Kreischberg/Murau ski area, featuring 42 kilometres of perfectly prepared slopes, and the Lachtal ski area, boasting 36 kilometres of slopes and ski routes. The nearby Kaiserau ski resort in Admont is ideal for beginners, offering 3 kilometres of slopes.

The Hohentauern ski area also offers plenty of fun for cross-country skiers, with excellently prepared trails that cover a total length of 18 kilometres.

In the summer, the Murtal holiday region offers a wide range of hiking, mountain biking, and cycling routes, as well as two idyllic bathing lakes: the bathing lake Gaishorn Am See and the recreational lake Wald Am Schoberpass. Additionally, there are several thermal spas, including the AQUALUX therme in Fohnsdorf and the Grimming therme in Bad Mitterndorf. Motorsport fans and bikers will also get their money's worth, as the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is just 35 kilometres away.

In the village of Hohentauern and its surrounding area, there are numerous excursion destinations, a variety of shopping opportunities, supermarkets, and a good selection of restaurants
