GARDEN FLOOR EAST: wood-burning stove and terrace to the southeast

An entryway with a coat closet and a bench leads into the open-concept apartment. The square kitchen island stands in the centre of the bright main room, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows facing south and east. You can cook while looking out onto the greenery and dine on the long bench in front of the windows. The living room with a wood-burning stove is quiet and cosy. From here, you can access the bathroom with a walk-in shower, set within a wooden enclosure. The bedroom is located at the end of the suite of rooms—secluded and cosy. Polished lime screed, hemp-lime insulation, lime plaster, lime paint: eco-friendly, breathable, and healthy for living. Underfloor heating and solid walls ensure a consistent indoor climate—cool in summer, pleasantly warm in winter.

If you’re in the mood for fresh local fruits and vegetables, you can order an organic box from Grünland in Salzwedel. Delivery arrives on Fridays, and we’re happy to have it arrive before your arrival. Hidden in the cupboard under the stairs is a small house shop stocked with fine foods and drinks—such as apple juice from Mühlenberg, bread mix, honey, pasta, pesto, and more. And if you feel like browsing, you might find the perfect book for a quiet hour on the shared bookshelf.

The sauna in the old vaulted cellar of the caretaker’s house is open to all guests.
