This unique, nature-oriented hunting lodge is situated on approximately 2,000 square metres of hillside land in a park-like garden with mature trees on the outskirts of Mindelheim. You can find holiday rental reviews from 2025 under “Host.”
The hunting lodge dates back to the early years of the last century; it has, of course, been restored several times and consists of two stories with a total area of approximately 50 square metres. On the upper floor is the ground-level, light-filled dining and kitchen area with a veranda and terrace. The bedroom and bathroom are located on the lower floor. You can access them via the stairs from the two outdoor paths.
The dining area is equipped with a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a double ceramic cooktop, a gas grill, and a coffee maker, as well as all necessary cooking and dining utensils. Garden loungers with cushions and a patio heater are also available. The large bedroom features a double bed and has direct access to a modern bathroom.
From the wooden veranda, your view sweeps out over the historic old town of Mindelheim, which is just a 10-minute walk away. In front of you, water gushes powerfully from a large granite rock and flows down the stream to a pond inhabited by red and blue grayling as well as white and grey sturgeon. The pond terrace is the perfect spot to relax.
You can also make yourself comfortable on the covered terrace between the cabin’s dining and kitchen areas and the large lawn with its own fire pit. If you climb another 30 metres in elevation from there along a paved path, you can also settle in at 680 metres above sea level for a snack or a sundowner and enjoy the view of the imposing Alpine range. You’ll find sunshine all day long in various spots, but there are also cool spots in the shade of the trees that you’ll appreciate on hot days. In this natural setting, wildlife and animal sounds cannot be ruled out.
Our family includes a large dog, but he primarily stays in our part of the house. A secure parking space is available. E-bikes for cycling tours in the beautiful Unterallgäu region can be rented upon request.
If you’re looking to relax in an oasis of tranquility surrounded by nature, yet close to town, this hunting lodge is the perfect choice. By bike, you can reach the bakery, butcher, or weekly market in five minutes, and the train station in eight.
