Old forge Berkholz

The linear village of Berkholz is located four kilometres east of Boitzenburg. The area around Berkholz has that typical Uckermark charm, thanks to its rolling fields dotted with numerous “Sollen” (also known as “Bruchlöcher”), extensive forested areas, and lakes of all sizes. In the neighbouring town of Boitzenburg, you’ll find Boitzenburg Castle and other attractions. For longer excursions, there are signposted bike and hiking trails. The Uckermark Lake District offers many opportunities for swimming and fishing. Unwind and relax—here you’ll find peace and quiet, far away from the stress of everyday life.
We lovingly converted our old smithy into a holiday home between 2021 and 2023. In doing so, we preserved the historic, artisanal heritage of the blacksmith’s shop. The holiday home features 52 m² of living space, an outdoor bathroom, and an indoor bathroom. It includes a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area; the living room features a dining area, a seating area, and a TV. The spacious entryway has a wood-burning stove that provides cosy warmth, and electric heating is also available. The property has its own garden with a lawn for sunbathing, a covered patio, a grill, and a seating area with a fire pit. The property borders directly on a pond (the Schmiedepfuhl), which is home to numerous animal species. Standard occupancy is for 2 people; an extra bed is available.
