Arrive, take a deep breath, unwind—and stay active at the same time. Our holiday home in the southern Thuringian Forest is a special retreat for anyone who wants to consciously experience relaxation in nature combined with exercise and fresh air. Thanks to its location on the edge of the forest, surrounded by a spacious woodland garden with mature trees and flower-filled meadows, you’ll find peace and a connection to nature here—far away from everyday life. The garden is designed without fences and is naturally bordered by shrubs and trees. Start your day in nature: pick berries or gather fresh meadow herbs for tea.

The holiday home is tastefully and luxuriously furnished; the rental price includes:
• Costs for electricity, water, parking space, trash removal, and final cleaning,
• bed linens, shower towels, hand towels, and a starter set of kitchen supplies.

In the living area of the house, the wooden walls and open-concept wooden ceiling create a sense of spaciousness and natural charm. It features a dining area for shared meals, a cosy couch area, and a wood-burning stove. From the couch, enjoy the view of the greenery through the large patio windows. The built-in kitchen contains everything you need to prepare culinary delights. The separate bedroom ensures restful nights, while the bathroom impresses with its modern design.

The two terraces are the perfect spot for breakfast in the morning sun, for cosy hours spent reading or relaxing on the lounge furniture, and for barbecue evenings. There’s always a quiet spot on the property where you can retreat—in the sun or shade, just as you prefer. A special highlight is the outdoor shower—refreshing after physical activities and invigorating on warm summer days.

This idyllic setting offers comfortable living, a nature-filled holiday, and a variety of opportunities for active getaways in the woods. Ideal for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet who want to combine relaxation, exercise, and comfortable living.

Right outside the front door, the forest begins, offering hiking and biking trails, meadows where cows graze, small streams and ponds, and many views of the Thuringian Forest. Popular destinations include the theatre town of Meiningen, the state capital Erfurt, the city of classical literature Weimar, the Goethe town of Ilmenau, and the fortress town of Coburg—all of which are easily accessible thanks to convenient highway connections. Hinternah is also located along the Thuringian Forest Nature Park Route, which, stretching 450 kilometres from scenic routes to deep valleys, offers everything for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Cultural and historical attractions in the immediate vicinity include Bertholdsburg Castle in Schleusingen, Heldburg Fortress, the Henneberg Museum at Veßra Abbey, the “Toy Town” of Sonneberg, and the “Glassblowing Town” of Lauscha.
