The lovingly restored complex consists of a half-timbered house dating from around 1840 and a stately Wilhelminian-style extension built in 1874. Your vacation apartment is located on the upper floor of the annex and offers a stunning view of the Spree River and the spacious garden, which is available for your shared use.
The newly modernized, light-filled vacation apartment features an open, fully equipped kitchen-living area with an electric stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, as well as dishes and silverware. A dining table, a bar table, and a total of six seats invite you to enjoy convivial meals.
The cozy living area features a comfortable sofa (which can also be used as a sleeper sofa; box-spring quality), a coffee table, and a TV. Wi-Fi is available free of charge both inside the house and in the garden. Floor-to-ceiling south-facing windows offer an unparalleled view of the 6,000-square-meter garden and the Spree River, which flows directly behind the house.
A real highlight: direct access to the water. Start your canoe or SUP tour here, or enjoy a refreshing dip on warm days.
The vacation rental sleeps up to six people:
• a separate bedroom with a double bed, closet, TV, nightstands with reading lamps, and a sitting area
• a box-spring-quality sofa bed in the living area
• a charming loft under the roof with a sleeping area—especially popular with children and teenagers (accessible via a ladder)
The modern, spacious bathroom (to be completed in 2025) is equipped with a shower, toilet, and sink; fresh towels and soap are provided for you.
The house is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, just about 30 meters from the banks of the Spree. Free parking is available on the property. The location is an excellent starting point for excursions to Berlin, Frankfurt (Oder), Eisenhüttenstadt, or the Spreewald.
Distances:
• Hangelsberg Train Station: approx. 1 km (2-minute drive / 15-minute walk)
• Fangschleuse Train Station: approx. 8 km (8-minute drive)
• BER Airport: approx. 40 km (25-minute drive)
From Hangelsberg Station, you can reach Alexanderplatz in approx. 35 minutes and Berlin Central Station in approx. 45 minutes.
In the mid-19th century, this half-timbered house served as an office building for the sawmill located to the west (now a nursery), where trees from the Spreewald were delivered by raft, cut here, and transported by road to the booming Berlin of the Gründerzeit era. The office building eventually became too small for the family, so in 1874 it was expanded with a stately addition in the Gründerzeit style.
