Welcome to your holiday home, “Ferienwohnung Fiete,” in Bornholt on the Kiel Canal. Bornholt is nestled among meadows and fields, right on the Kiel Canal, and is the perfect place to unwind from the stresses of everyday life and fully enjoy the wonderful tranquility that this setting offers.
“Fiete” is a holiday rental designed for your comfort. With the Kiel Canal practically on your doorstep, its approximately 60 square metres of living space offers the ideal setting for pure relaxation.
There are two bedrooms in total (one with a single bed and one with a double bed), a bright and inviting living room, a bathroom with a shower, and a small but well-equipped kitchen.
The southeast-facing terrace invites you to linger—it’s also perfect for your furry friend, who can run around to their heart’s content here. Plus, your dog is welcome in all of our holiday rentals at no extra charge. There is high-speed fiber-optic Wi-Fi and a lockable bike shed with a power outlet.
Our holiday apartments are also the ideal starting point for day trips to the North Sea and the Baltic Sea; to Denmark (about a 2-hour drive); or to major cities such as Hamburg, Kiel, and/or Lübeck. Shopping options are easily and quickly accessible by car in Albersdorf and Hanerau-Hademarschen.

The area around Bornholt also offers short trips to a wide variety of attractions. Just a few kilometres away, the Dithmarschen Stone Age Park in Albersdorf delights families and history buffs alike, inviting visitors on an exciting journey back in time. Hanerau-Hademarschen, also just a few minutes away by car, is known, among other things, as the place where the poet Theodor Storm lived and worked—he wrote his novella “Der Schimmelreiter” here.
The nearest major towns, Heide and Itzehoe, with their charming shopping streets, offer the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll through town and/or an extensive shopping spree. Heide is also known for having the largest undeveloped town square in Germany. A weekly market is held there every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
