Gretna.com
Cottage is fully furnished has a large living room complete with gas fireplace, and separate sitting area with antique piano. Enjoy the modern amenities of a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave. Cable TV, Internet service and comfortable beds. Three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, and 2 bunk beds in semi private hallway. One single bed, one king bed, one double bed and two bunk beds.
There is a large private wrap around porch for relaxing and enjoying the quiet surroundings. The porch overlooks Campmeeting gardens with no cottages blocking your view ,with parking for three cars in front of the cottage. Dine outside on the porch (table that seats six ), or eat at the smaller table that seats two for more intimate meals.
There are always scheduled activities including hiking, bird watching, educational programs and live music at the outdoor tabernacle in Campmeeting during the summer months.
Enjoy daily strolls through the narrow streets under the canaopy of the huge pines, chat with the neighbors and delight in the architecture and variety of each cottage you pass.
There are three resturants and an ice cream parlor within walking distance. The Jigger Shop Ice Cream Parlor has been in operation since 1895. There is also a nostalgic roller rink and miniature golf, and Mt. Gretna lake that are seasonally open.
The village is nestled in the historic 125-year old Charles Dickens like Village of Campmeeting, Mt. Gretna, Pa. In the 1890’s, the Pennsylvania Chautauqua Society founded Mt. Gretna, attracted by the region’s natural beauty. The landscape is still just as inviting——gently wooded mountains, a steam, and a lake. Throughout the Summer, the Chautauqua’s educational and cultural tradition is carried out on with first-rate events in music, theater, and art. As cooler weather sets in, the area displays some of the most stunning foliage of the Northeast. When snow flies, cross country skiers enjoy expertly groomed, picturesque trails. Spring brings a green-dusted calm to the acres of protected Gamelands, crossed by miles of trails for mountain biking and hiking.
Also, a great place for hunters to hang their hats in deer season!

What makes this property unique
This cottage offers a step back in time, quiet, peaceful garden setting view from the large covered wrap around porch. Many of the cottages are very tight against the neighboring cottages and offer little or no privacy when on the porch. Sunset Cottage has a wonderful view of the Campmeeting gardens with no obstructions and has shaded gardens on both sides to the property.
Please be informed, Mt. Gretna is a family resort area, there is a quiet time mandatory from 10:00 PM until 9:00 AM the following day.
Also, the cottage is over 100 years old, but is meticulous in every detail. The original pine floors are uneven and there are no right angle corners in the rooms giving Sunset Cottage a special vintage historic charm.
The wrap around porch is very special as it overlooks the garden of the Campmeeting community.
Also, very importantly there is parking on the premise for three vehicles.....a rarity in Mt. Gretna!
