Quiet garden retreat in the Mecklenburg countryside
The Hidden Garden Retreat is not a conventional holiday destination, but a quiet retreat in the Mecklenburg countryside — created for people who appreciate slowness, nature and a private atmosphere.
The apartment is located on an approximately six-hectare park-like property with old trees, open meadows, quiet paths and many sheltered places for sitting, reading or simply being. The grounds are fully enclosed and are always used by only one guest group at a time. Guests share the property exclusively with the hosts.
The apartment itself offers around 110 m² of calm and spacious living space for up to four guests. Two bedrooms with high-quality double beds, several living areas and a fully equipped kitchen make even longer stays comfortable and uncomplicated. The interior combines natural materials, bright rooms, art, books and a consciously quiet aesthetic with the feeling of a genuinely lived-in home — not a standardized holiday rental.
The kitchen is equipped for everyday cooking as well as long breakfasts and relaxed evenings at home. In addition to an oven, dishwasher, microwave and air fryer, all usual cooking and baking utensils are provided. Fresh high-quality cotton bed linen, towels and a few welcoming touches upon arrival are naturally included.
The garden offers several quiet seating areas as well as two different barbecue spaces for long summer evenings outdoors. A washing machine is available for longer stays. Freshly washed laundry dries on the covered outdoor drying area in the garden breeze – sheltered from the weather and surrounded by nature.
A symmetrical 1 Gbit fiber connection allows for relaxed remote work or longer digitally connected stays, although many guests may choose this place precisely to slow down and step away from speed and everyday routines for a while.
The Hidden Garden Retreat is especially suited for:
couples seeking peace and quiet small families readers writers and creative people longer stays in nature remote work with space to retreat guests who appreciate nature, privacy and a calm atmosphere
At the same time, the retreat is intentionally not designed for parties, group events or loud tourism. The maximum number of guests is four people.
Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. The apartment is non-smoking. Private parking is available on the property.
The Mecklenburg Lake District, with its forests, small villages and countless lakes, begins practically at the doorstep. Plau am See and Lake Plauer See can be reached in about ten minutes by car. The surrounding area is ideal for walks, cycling tours, quiet summer days by the water and slow travel away from heavily touristic destinations.
Private horse carriage rides through the countryside can also be arranged on request.
Perhaps this is less a place for vacation — and more a place to arrive.
