Nearby is Karlsvika, with its idyllic bathing beach, jetty and beautiful rocks by the water – ideal for a morning swim, a fishing trip or a quiet evening by the sea. Also within easy reach is the popular Ringshaugstranden, one of Vestfold’s best-known sandy beaches, which delights visitors with its shallow waters and excellent conditions for swimming and surfing. In Skallevold, swimming, windsurfing, paddling and fishing are just some of the many activities available along the coast. Those who prefer to explore on foot will find lovely walking trails in Essoskogen. The charming coastal walking trail also runs very close by, leading along the fjord through varied coastal landscapes featuring beaches, cliffs and magnificent viewpoints. Be sure to visit the popular summer towns of Tønsberg, Åsgårdstrand and Horten, where you’ll find restaurants, shops, cultural attractions and lively harbour districts.
