1st Floor Apartment With Stunning Sea Views Sleeps 5.

Situated in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ortigia this family friendly 2-bedroomed apartment is perfect for your holiday. Maximum of 6 persons in two bedrooms. Recently renovated facade, with new triple glazed windows, shutters and a new balcony from the Master Bedroom. Newly decorated inside and some new bedroom furniture. There is a new double sofa bed in the lounge area. The master bedroom has a matrimonial bed and new white double glass doors, with shutters to open onto the new balcony, to overlook the Ionian sea. A wonderful place to watch the sunrise. The second bedroom has two 90cm single beds and there is also a babycot on request. The apartment is accessed through double wrought iron gates which lock automatically, or through a single wrought iron gate on the Lungomare side. The inner courtyard has stone flooring,integral lighting and switches on the inside for the automatic gates. The apartment is set out on one floor with the front door leading straight into the kitchen/dining area and the lounge with stunning sea views. The outside terrace, which overlooks the inner courtyard, is accessible through double patio doors direct from the kitchen. The perfect place to eat and relax. The patio is complete with a large table, chairs and a parasol. Nearby are local shops, designer shops and the amazing daily fish market. It is situated in an ideal position for exploring Sicily with Mount Etna and Taormina to the North and beautiful beaches and archaeology sites to the South. Swimming is possible from the rocks which are a short walk away.

Holiday in Sicily

We had a fantastic holiday at this apartment. The apartment provided everything we needed for an enjoyable holiday. The neighbourhood is quiet and all the attractions and amenities are easily accessible on foot. The apartment has beautiful views of the sea and a lovely terrace. Communication with both the owner and her local representative Lynette was excellent. We would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing location in a gorgeous town!

We spent 5 nights at this perfectly located apartment in July 2018. We are a family of two adults and 3 teenagers and the apartment had plenty of space for our family. It was well equipped and has an amazing location. Communication with the owner and manager was without any issues. They responded immediately every time we contacted them. Such a pleasant stay in such a beautiful town! I would definitely recommend and stay there again. Ortigia is such an amazing place.

Sea view

Great location and view of the sea. Lots of room. New kitchen is very nice. Beds and furniture are comfortable. Cleaning is not very thorough and outside deck is not cleaned or swept. The doors opening onto the sea are lovely but the balcony is way to small for sitting and there are no table and chairs for sitting. Overall, a very lovely experience but could use a little upgrade.

Brilliantly situated apartment in Ortigia

This spacious apartment is extremely well situated with lovely views straight over the sea. The agent met us at the apartment when we arrived at around 23.30 and was not put out by the lateness of the hour. She welcomed us and showed us what was necessary to know. Ortigia is lovely with so much to see and so many good restaurants and bars to enjoy, if you are not soaking up the sun promenading or on the beach. The apartment is very well situated for easy walking to everything. We were delighted by our first visit to Sicily and our choice of accommodation.

Everything you need in a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Jan's flat in Ortigia. There were some initial communication problems due to the VRBO app. Once that was resolved everything went smoothly. Lynette arranged our pickup at the airport and met us. The flat had everything we needed, including a new kitchen, in a historic waterfront building. We could easily walk everywhere in Ortigia. The bus around the island takes you into Siracusa for exploring historic sites there. We highly recommend Casa Anita as the perfect base for exploring Ortigia!

Sea view location

Very helpful communication with Lynette for check in and during our 4 day stay. The location of apartment is convenient for the market that’s well worth a visit and also 10 minute walk for a swim. The main bedroom is spacious and has sea view although would have been nice to open lower shutter for better view. Sleeps 4 comfortably if you use bed settee instead of second bedroom. Having washing machine was a bonus and enough kitchen equipment. Road outside was busy during day and quiet at night just sound of the sea. Ortigia is a beautiful unique place to visit we really enjoyed exploring it.

Schönes Apartment in guter Lage

Das Apartment ist ausreichend groß und vernünftig eingerichtet. Die Lage ist gut, so dass man alle Punkte Ortigias in maximal einer Viertelstunde zu Fuß erreichen kann. Insbesondere der Blick aus dem Fenster aufs Meer ist ein echter Pluspunkt!

La casina è accogliente e con tutti i comfort (Tv, condizionatore, etc) ma quello che fa la differenza è la posizione, il poter addormentare cullato dalla melodia delle onde del mare e svegliarsi ed avere come prima immagine il mare non ha prezzo (ho dormito sempre con le tapparelle aperte e dalla mia camera si vede il mare anche stando a letto), ho goduto di tramonti e albe fantastiche che neanche in cartolina si possono vedere. Inoltre in una zona perfetta vicino al mercato e al centro di Ortigia. Veramente STUPENDO 🌅!!!

Casa e posto favolosi

Con le mie amiche (4 ragazze di 21 anni) abbiamo deciso di soggiornare in questa magnifica casetta nell'ultima settimana di Luglio e la prima di Agosto. L'ospitalità è stata eccellente e ogni qualvolta avessimo bisogno di qualcosa Mrs.Lynette era sempre disponibile. Anche la comunicazione con la proprietaria della casa Jan è sempre stata ottima e ci ha fornito ogni informazione di cui avessimo bisogno prima di venire a soggiornare ad Ortigia. La casa era stupenda, ben arredata, grande (5 posti letto), molto pulita e fornita di ogni comfort, dai saponi, agli asciugamani, al condizionatore e così via. La vista dal balcone era spettacolare perché dava direttamente sul mare, proprio come nelle foto dell'annuncio e si trovava in un'ottima posizione sia per raggiungere la zona balneare (non si trovano spiagge ma solo piccole calette formate da scogli) sia per raggiungere il centro di Ortigia, supermercati/mercato e movida con i vari ristoranti/locali. La magica Ortigia ha rubato un pezzo del nostro cuore e per chi non è mai stato qui, consiglio vivamente di passarci le vacanze. Noi ci torneremo sicuramente.

Very nice apartment. A perfect location, to explore Ortigia and south eastern Sicily. Just remember that parking a vehicle is basically impossible on Ortigia - Absolutely nothing to do with this excellent apartment, but an important note for those who are not familiar with Sicilan traffic!

We enjoyed a beautiful, typical Sicilian apartment with all the conveniences and a magnificent view. There is easy access to the market, transportation, shops and historical sites. This was the first time in 35 years of traveling that we rented an apartment and stayed in one place. It was a perfect way to fully appreciate the culture while still taking in the sites and we will travel this way from now on. It was very easy to communicate with the owner and, Lynette, the on-site representative, was a helpful and engaging host and we now consider her a friend.

A LOVELY SOJOURN

Jan was a pleasure to work which made the rental of this property a positive experience. She was happy to answer all my questions and I had many. Lynette, the onsite contact, was also helpful. We'd just gotten off a trans-Atlantic flight and arrangements were made to pick us up at Catania's airport which helped tremendously with the time adjustment. A car isn't needed in Ortigia unless you plan day trips. We stayed at Jan's apartment for 8 nights and picked up our rental car at the end of our stay to drive further into Sicily. Avis car rental is within walking distance of the apartment. The location of the apartment is central to everything in Ortigia and it's just a short walk across the bridge into the main part of Siracusa. The apartment is two bedrooms with the master being a nice size with a comfortable bed. Both the master bedroom and the main living area have stunning views of the sea. The kitchen is nicely equipped although we ate most of our meals out. We also didn't have a need to use the washing machine. We loved having our morning cappuccino at both Cafe' Apollo and Cafe' Archimede. We enjoyed the market and the wonderful sandwich shop in the market called Caseificio Borderi--it's a mandatory stop unless you're impatient and don't want to stand in line to see the show. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this apartment

I live in England but spend as much time as possible at my apartment. It is home from home and has all the necessary amenities for a wonderful holiday. I am trying to learn Italian as there is less English spoken here than other parts of Italy. I live amongst Italians and have made many friends here. I especially like it when my neighbours and the local shops, including the market, recognise and acknowledge me every time and make me feel so very much at home.

Why they chose this property

I first visited Siracusa in 2001 and did not know about Ortigia but when I first drove over the bridge into Ortigia I fell in love with it. It is wonderful, full of beautiful old buildings Ortigia oozes history and it never ceases to amaze me. You live amongst real people, doing their daily work. The fish market is real and alive and just sitting at a local coffee bar you can capture every aspect of local life whilst watching the world go by. There is something to suit everyone, eating a meal in a romantic setting overlooking the sea, swimming from the rocks, shopping in designer shops or the market, relaxing on a beach or visiting fabulous historical sites. Horse drawn carriages, cobblestone streets where you can wander for hours and lovely churches to admire. This is real Italy.

What makes this property unique

There is a new facade on my property, and new windows, shutters and a new balcony. My newly decorated master bedroom and lounge overlook the sea and I love to watch the sunrise in the mornings. This bed now faces the new balcony and you can watch the sea without having to get up. It is also possible to eat breakfast on my terrace whilst still being able to see the water. I love to shop at the market on a daily basis for fresh fish, fruit and vegetables and to banter with the shopkeepers whilst being offered samples of their foods. To walk to the rocks and swim for an hour or two and if it is too hot to go down again in the evening for another swim. There are also many historical opportunities ranging from the Greek ampitheatre, even watching plays there to the catacombs and fabulous archeaological sites both in Ortigia and within walking distance. There is also Interbus direct from Catania airport to Siracusa which runs several times a day and is only €5.70.
