This place is minutes from where my son and family live - close to downtown and Kendrick Park and not far from Walmart and the Airport. I loved the kitchen, bathrooms and back deck. The house had everything I needed. Was a good place to stay - instead of hotel.

Rustic feel with tons of charm. A great way to experience Sheridan, WY.
My family had a wonderful stay at the property. We were all there to ride the MS 150 and were able to enjoy the comforts this property offered when we weren't on bicycles peddaling through Sheridan and surrounding communities. I would recommend this property to travelers as it feels like it is a piece of history and has a lot of personality.
The house was very clean, well-appointed, and quite cozy. It was easy to find and centrally located. The host was very nice and easy-going, communicated clearly, made sure we checked in and had everything we needed, but otherwise left us to our privacy. Liz is a wonderful host! We hope to stay there again next time we’re in Sheridan.

Comfy home in a quiet neighborhood
We had a nice time hanging out, entertaining once for dinner and generally enjoying Sheridan. The house is in a nice little neighborhood, very close (walkable) to downtown. It was very hot on our weekend so we appreciated that there was A/C! Nice kitchen, two baths, all perfect!
Amazing how well stocked this place was with most everything needed for cooking including spices.
Don't worry yourself about forgetting anything ass it is most likely there. Nice to have laundry facilities on site, also. The bathroom locations are a little inconvenient, but certainly doable, and nice to have the 2 bathrooms when there are 2 couples staying there. Place is dated and rustic, but we rather enjoyed that. Like stepping back in time. Beds were good. Air conditioner will freeze you out if you want. Overall, nice place to stay.
We spent a week here, and it was the perfect place for us! It felt like staying in a home rather than a hotel, and it had all kinds of useful fittings: a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and clothesline (there was a dryer, but we don't use dryers), interesting books, art on the walls. The house stayed cool throughout the day, even when the temperature was in the upper 90s, without any use of the AC. The location is terrific; it was so quick and easy to run errands and visit the many lovely parks in and around town. The owner, Liz, was available by e-mail and phone to address the questions we had before we arrived, and we enjoyed a nice chat with her in the back yard while there. We will definitely stay here if we visit Sheridan again!
Property was worn and dated but I think that was the point. Communication with owner was slow or didn’t happen at all. House was hard to find, unkempt on the outside. Dining room table dangerously close to drooping to the ground on both ends. Very unstable and wobbly.
Nice little place in a quiet neighborhood that was close to downtown. The property has a long driveway which was awesome since we had a Sprinter 170 and 14’ trailer. Both fit easily with room to spare.
We love the Sheridan area and really liked staying with Liz. Very comfy cottage and centrally located to all that Sheridan and the Bighorn Mountain area. We recommend a stay here.Sheila S.
We spent 4 nights and 5 days in this house and loved it!! Easily located to everything in Sheridian. House is spacious and the full kitchen was amazing. Not to mention the huge bathtub to take some great soaks in! The property owner was nice and accomadating as well. .
Liz’s place was a great location and close enough to walk just about anywhere. It was clean and well cared for. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the floors were very creaky, and hard not to disturb one another at night when walking to the kitchen/bathroom. Overall, I recommend if you are looking for a home base without the bells and whistles of some of the spots on Main.
Older property. Modern bathrooms. Very quiet. Very comfortable furniture but like a museum. Fluffy towels. Comfy beds. Fresh flowers on tables and bathrooms. Great , convenient location. Quiet neighborhood. Quiet inside house. Could not hear from room to room. Relaxing tv room. We really enjoyed the back deck and garden early morning and evening! Many things to do in area. Owner kept us informed with information.
We came for a college graduation and this place was clean and comfortable. It was centrally located to all points of interest. It’s close enough to walk to Downtown on Main St for all the shopping and dining. College is a short drive away.
I'm retired as Exec Director and founder of the Wyoming Wilderness Association. I grew up in Denver, CO. I am now a practicing painter, birder, volunteer, hiker and traveler as well as your host! My M.F.A. degree is from the University of Washington. The Howell Hotel features original artwork inside and steel sculptures hidden throughout the yard.
Why they chose this property
I wanted to provide a homey and arty experience for travelers while visiting Sheridan. This updated 1910 house has a wonderful history and lots of privacy in a quiet neighborhood with lovely big yard and jungle-like gardens. A private outside deck and B-B Q out the back door. The bathrooms are updated with slate tiles imbedded with fossils and cool rocks. I live in the other half, closed off by curtains and insulated doors. Full kitchen is well-equipped. WiFi TV and A/C unit installed in 2017.
What makes this property unique
I love Wyoming for its wildness. The Bighorn Mountains are only an hour away for fishing, hiking and camping. Sheridan is a super friendly town, small yet highly cultured. The WYO Theater brings wonderful events, music, theater and dance. There are 24 miles of hiking/walking paths and parks in Sheridan to enjoy. The Howell Hotel is located just 5 blocks from downtown restaurants, bars and shopping, as well as the SAGE Community Art Gallery. In the summer, Sheridan boasts a summer Farmers market every Thursday and the Third Thursday of every summer month is a great street festival on Main Street with music, food and booths.
