About this property

Massanutten For Kids II - w/ low ropes, playroom, and family fun!

This classic chalet-style cabin is set back from the street at the end of a court on a beautiful wooded lot... one of the largest in Massanutten. It backs to common space and has ample privacy, yet is minutes from all Massanutten activities and amenities.

The cabin features over 2500 square feet of indoor living space, a brand new kitchen (2023), a wrap around deck, and screened in porch. It's a great space for families, small groups, and kids of all ages.

The cabin has three levels of living space, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a well-appointed and beautiful kitchen, a walk-out basement, rec room, a playroom for the kids, a flat driveway (a luxury around here in the winter), screened in porch, and a large wrap-around deck.

- For the kids - Inside
Every vacation home has a few board games and a deck of cards (this home is no exception), but we know how excited our own kids are when they find something new... so our playroom is stocked with blocks, dinosaurs, cars, trains, puzzles... etc. So there is plenty to keep even the little ones entertained on a rainy day.

- For the kids - Outside
And if its not a rainy day? We know that families come to Massanutten to enjoy the outdoors, and since our lot has such great outdoor space we wanted to provide a few options for the kids right here at the house. We've set up a low ropes triangle and balance beam and have plenty of wooded space for the kids to play. We also have cornhole boards and bean bags for your use at the house.

- Amenities -
We designed and furnished this cabin with our own family in mind. We love the outdoors and open spaces, and we love the look of exposed beams and the classic chalet-style cabin... Inside we wanted CLEAN (our home ALWAYS will be) and we wanted modern decor and amenities. and a fully stocked beautifully renovated kitchen for all your culinary needs.

- Things to do -
Our welcome packet includes many pages of recommendations for family friendly activities in and around Massanutten. We've done it all, and pointing you in the right direction so you get the most out of your vacation is our specialty! We're located smack in the middle of Massanutten Resort, not more than a couple of minutes from all resort activities including the ski slope, indoor/outdoor water park, rec centers, year-round tubing, two golf courses, go-karts, mini-golf, ice skating (seasonal), horseback riding, fishing ponds, playgrounds, and fantastic hiking. And of course, you can venture outside the resort to the nearby Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah River, Luray Caverns, local wineries, lavender farm... etc. Options for outdoor entertainment in The Valley are endless.

- We make it easy -
We always provide our guests with linens and towels, dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, and other cleaners. We also provide starter sets of paper products like paper towels and toilet paper. Although we don't inventory other items, some essentials often stay stocked such as assorted spices, cooking oil, sweeteners… etc.

-Eligibility - Must be 25 to rent.

We met at James Madison University and live in Northern Virginia with our three children. We volunteer at school, church, and with youth sports. We spend as little time as possible waiting in Tyson's Corner traffic.

We started coming back to The Valley years ago and found Massanutten to be the perfect weekend vacation spot for our family. This was something that I definitely did not anticipate as a ski instructor here in 1999.

We were very excited to purchase this home in the Summer of 2014, and have had fun preparing a great space to share with our friends and our guests.

Why they chose this property

We love the activities that Massanutten Resort provides, as well as the proximity to the endless opportunities for outdoor recreation in the Shenandoah Valley.

We love the look and feel of this house, but it's the outdoor space that makes it. Many of the lots at Massanutten are on fairly steep slopes and the outdoor space isn't as usable as we would like. We really wanted the kids to be able to play outside, and we knew right away that we could create an outdoor space here that our kids would love. This relatively level lot is one of the biggest in Massanutten, it backs to common space, and the house is set back at the end of a court.

What makes this property unique

There are tons of activities at Massanutten Resort and elsewhere in The Valley, but you don't even need to go anywhere to appreciate the outdoors from this home.

If you want to leave the house in the morning and come back at night, then you can stay anywhere. We like this place because our kids don't want to leave... and that means we can be more flexible when planning (or not planning) our days.
