About this property

FARM STAY Milkbarn Milkhouse Barndo Highland Cows Ducks Chickens

Welcome to a luxury stay at our farm called Cedar Pond Farms. You are not renting a home with our farm, you are creating an experience for your family and friends! Our farm has a large outdoor common space with a 2-acre pond, catfishing, a chicken barn where you collect fresh eggs, sunning decks, and fire pits. The Milkbarn is nestled in New Market and our farm is only 25 miles from Sevierville & 25 miles to downtown Knoxville & UTK. We are a great base for Cherokee Lake fun or a day in the Smokies.

You can rent our modern Milkbarn for your family or corporate getaway overnight. This Milkbarn houses up to 17 folks comfortably & 4 more at the milkhouse next door. You can even get fresh eggs from our chickens for breakfast. Our Grand White Barn across the barnyard from the Milkbarn has a Tesla Charger 50amp NEMA plug for your stay.

This is truly a unique property. Not only do you rent the milk barn for your overnight, but you also get to use the common space of the farm. The farm consists of a 2-acre pond full of catfish and multiple docks. From the pond to our laying hens on the farm, it is a special place. Have a campfire, play corn hole, shoot the basketball, swing on any of the many swings, and the list goes on.

Guests get access to many shared amenities around the farm. Bring your fishing pole, as you don't need a license (we have that covered). The farm has Wi-Fi to keep in touch with friends and "check-in" on social media. We have 500MB fiber optic internet. Use the hashtag #CedarPondFarms when you post your photos on social media. You are welcome to use our many decks around the pond for sunsets or enjoy some basketball at our hoop. You can even access our chicken coop for fresh eggs or say hello to our Scottish Highlander cattle on the hillside. You will also have access to the milk house building next door. This building has a ping pong table, foosball, shuffleboard, corn-hole sets, and, of course, 2 flat-screen TVs to watch the game on or some NetFlix. In addition, this building has a kitchenette, a hand-washing sink, and a restroom. This is a special place for kids and kids at heart.

Our family lives on the front side of the farm. We are just a few acres away if you need anything. We are glad to help with anything that comes up. We are glad to be your local guide during your stay with information on great eating spots and things to do. We are just a message or text away.

We are the neighborhood. You have acres to roam and enjoy. There are many restaurants within 5 miles, shopping centers, Walmart, and a hospital. We are the perfect spot to be in the country and relax and have all the conveniences of city life. You can even book a Scottish Highland cow experience if you like. Just message us for details.

We recommend a car for travel to the lake or nearby shopping. We recommend pontoon boat rental from Black Oak Marina on Cherokee Lake (5 miles away) for the day. Another option is to go to Douglas Lake (15 miles away) for the day. There are several boat rental options there as well.

Folks love our large firepits on the front porch and our stainless steel grill on the side deck. We also offer Bluetooth sound systems for inside and outside the Milkbarn. Come here ready to relax and enjoy time with family, Cedar Ponf Farms style!

Christmas at Farm Stay

Our kids, grandkids, and nieces and nephews, and Troy’s brother all got together for our Christmas this year. We wanted to provide a fun filled time for our family for Christmas by getting together for the Highland Cow experience! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time at the Farm Stay! The weather was actually perfect for December!

Great Space for Family

This was a wonderful space that had plenty of activities for one to enjoy with their family. Close enough to hit all the tourist attractions while being able to enjoy some peace and quiet time. Highly recommend. The owner was helpful and prompt with his replies whenever a question needed answering.

Perfect Getaway During COVID-19

We were getting cabin fever but didn't want to travel by air or stay in a hotel so we took a road trip from MO to TN and rented this beautiful country home. The house is perfect and the scenery was amazing. There was so much to do we didn't care that we never left the property! The kids loved the pond and the chickens and the game room where we learned they love to play darts. Every morning we'd make coffee and sit on the porch watching the cows! We can't wait to come back!

Great for big groups

We had a wonderful stay with our large group of three families consisting of six adults and nine children. Big kids stayed in the game room, medium kids on the VERY nice leather futon couches in the family room, little kids in the bunk room and two adults in the cubbies which are very spacious!! Mealtimes were less chaotic thanks to the many tables and chairs outside for everyone to spread out. It was also really hot (july) but the fans on the covered porch made a huge difference. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Peaceful modern retreat

What a treat to be only 10 minutes away from River Glens Horse Trials! When not competing, slipped away to a chair by the pond for a relaxing nap. Open dining/ living area allowed the group to share team dinners after which we hung out on patio and enjoyed gas fire pit. ( Next time will remember the marshmallows!) Electric fire places in the Queen bedrooms & TVs in the bunk room & beds in the wall were a great touch! Both the moms & their rider daughters all enjoyed the massage chairs! There was definitely something for everyone & we will be back for the Spring River Glen competition!

Great family get-a-way! Loved every minute of our stay!

This property was exactly what our family needed for a vacation! It had beds for everyone, plenty of room to spend time together in, big kitchen/dining area, 3 porches to spend outdoor time in, huge game room to have a little family game tournament, large pond to fish in, relaxing deck and hammock to relax in waterside, kayak and canoe to use (we actually held family boat races on the pond). We got to feed chickens, collect eggs, and feed the fish in the pond. Actually go to eat fresh farm eggs for breakfast every morning too! This was a great place to spend a week during the Corona pandemic...location was secluded and yet close to other activities! We rented a pontoon boat with tubing on Cherokee Lake one day (15 minute drive away) and when hiking in the Smoky Mountains a couple of days (1 hour drive away)....we would definitely recomend this place to everyone! We loved every minute of our stay!

Best Vaca Ever!

We brought 4 generations (ages 4 to 82) to the property for our annual family vacation. This one was definitely the best one we’ve ever had! The property was more than we could have dreamed of. The stocked lake was perfect for the fishermen in our group! The kids enjoyed strolling around the lake in the canoe while doing some fishing too. The chickens and ducks were hours of fun for the old and young. Fresh eggs for breakfast each day was a fantastic perk! The “surprise” in the freezer upon arrival was the best and sweetest thing. I won’t ruin the fun and tell what it was, but trust me, it will be worth the wait. We all enjoyed some time in the game room, playing ping pong, shuffle board, and foosball! We made s’mores at the fire pit, grilled burgers on the new gas grills, lounged in the great room, and enjoyed some much needed porch sitting! The owner and farm manager went above and beyond to answer any questions we had about the area. We rented a pontoon just minutes down the road, had a wonderful dinner at the same marina. Not to mention how well kept the house, game room, and the entire property was. 100% loved every moment and everything about the place!

A Place for the Whole Family

The Milkbarn comfortably accommodated our party of 10. We brought our infant and was surprised to see a high chair available on location. Our two teenagers enjoyed the upstairs cubby beds and large farm grounds to roam. The younger kids slept in the bunk beds. My elderly Mother-in-law was comfortable on the collapsible futon on the main floor next to the fireplace; all bedrooms are located upstairs. There is a bathroom on both floors. There is an adjacent building converted to a game room with table tennis and shuffleboard, as well as its own bathroom. We utilized the kitchen facilities to prepare a Thanksgiving feast for the holiday and it was well-furnished. There is also a laundry room if you will be having an extended stay. There was a wine chiller and an outdoor deck firepit for roasting marshmallows. All of this with a great view of the farm hills and pond. A lot of thought was put into comfort and entertainment for the location. The host was very responsive to communications and questions.

Perfect for family gatherings

Our families traveled from Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, Washington DC and Montreal to celebrate Christmas at the Milkbarn before attending a wedding in Knoxville. The house and property were better than expected. Shawn was helpful and welcoming. He gave us (including grandchildren) a tour of the chicken coop, taught the boys how to collect fresh eggs for morning breakfasts and offered a variety of sleeping options. There are beds in the Fish House and upstairs in the Reception Barn; as well as, the Milkbarn house. The gameroom was fun, but we spent most of the time on the porch, near the gas firepit and around the wood firepit. Though we did not use the reception hall, I would strongly suggest this venue for a wedding/celebration venue. The house was decorated in the Southern Living fashion, there was plenty of space for everyone to run free, climb the hills in the cow pastures and canoe on the pond. Our family will definitely return for our next visit to the area. Thank you to Shawn and your family! Judy from Montreal

Beautiful setting but needs better cleaning.

The property was beautiful, and the house was very nice. There was plenty of sleeping space for everyone. The only issue was it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. There were dead insects everywhere, mouse droppings in the kitchen, and there was bird poop all over the table on the front porch. Once we told the property manager, he did send someone to clean the next day. Otherwise the stay was very nice. Our kids enjoyed the pond and walking around the property.

The property is beautiful and Shawn is a great host. Although in the midst of horse and grain farms, there is convenient shopping. We played tennis at the nearby Carson Newman University courts, and our granddaughter said they had a great time swimming at a nearby lake.

Overall it is a great property, there was quite a bit of dirt on the floor in the game room where we stayed. Wish the futons were a little more comfortable and had sheets that fit. Also didn’t notice that there wasn’t a dish washer.

Fantastic Quiet Place with Plenty to Do

The chickens! The kids (3 & 7) loved feeding the chickens, getting fresh eggs, and chasing (and getting chased by) them. The House is terrific. High quality. Just a cool space. Shawn was very helpful with everything and always available. And my kids had no idea there were so many stars in the sky…. I hope we make it back with friends soon when its warmer.

This was our second time visiting and it was just as good as the first. The property is beautiful and Shawn is an excellent host. The weather, which was supposed to be rainy even cooperated and we had a perfect weather week. We can't wait to return again as we now have made this an annual trip!
