About this property

Architect designed cabin in the woods, Pender Island

We invite you to relax and enjoy our beautiful, peaceful retreat nestled in five private acres on South Pender Island. The property is sunny and warm with ocean glimpses from the cottage, deck and bathtub. The open concept cottage includes a spacious full height sleeping loft, fully outfitted kitchen with granite counter tops, bathroom with walk-in shower, and outdoor bathtub. The eclectic furniture consists of an antique industrial table and stools, modern sofa and ottomans, and a comfortable queen bed. The cottage, completed in 2013, is close to hiking trails, beaches, Poet's Cove Resort and Port Browning Marina. We try to reduce our environmental footprint through the use of environmentally friendly cleaning and bath products. Please note that pets are not allowed on furniture or the bed. Completion of construction on Canal Road is due to commence March 2023 and hopefully be completed by June. It is unclear at this time whether there will be road closures associated with the 2025 construction.

A lovely, peaceful place to relax. Owners were lovely people, and super-prompt at responding to any needs. Outdoor bath is truly a special experience and the highlight of our stay.

Responsive, helpful host.Quiet and private location. Forest surrounds you with a nice patch of ocean beyond. You can be cozy in the cabin or go out to one of Pender’s many lovely beaches, eateries, or other unique offerings (host offers some great suggestions).

Stylish architecture and furniture

We enjoyed the simplicity of the cottage and marvelled at the architectural features. I loved sitting in the beautiful Softline chair. This was our first stay on the South Island and enjoyed the unite, the pathways and the views across the sound.

Beach/hiking venture

We loved our stay at this little cabin! It was perfectly set up for 2 people and had everything we needed in regards to cooking utensils. We lucked out with getting a storm the first night and were able to view it from the large windows, we also loved hearing the rain on the tin roof. We loved the easy access to nearby hiking trails and beach access points.Would stay here again.

Dreamy escape

Perfectly tucked away in the trees with a glimpse of the ocean. It was peaceful and incredibly private. Also only a short drive to beautiful Gowlland point beach or to Mortimers spit. Loved everything about this little cabin getaway!

Gem of a cabin

Loved our stay at this beautifully designed cabin, perfect for the 2 of us, had everything we needed. Loved sitting out on the decks in the morning with our coffee or after a day of exploring the island. Lots of good tips from Sandy the owner about the Island. Love swimming at Magic Lake.

A gem in the woods

A stunning little cabin in the woods. It was incredibly clean and tidy and a lot of thoughtful touches throughout. Host was incredibly accommodating and made our stay pure perfection. Can’t wait to return.

Idyllic getaway

Foxglove cabin was absolutely heavenly. We read, we slept, we took outdoor baths, we enjoyed having a nice bluetooth speaker, we went to the farmers' market, we took our dog on a hike up Mt. Norman, we spent as much time as possible at the Magic Lake swimming hole... Thank you for being a great place to land in Pender!

We enjoyed our stay at the little cabin in the woods on Pender Island

The cabin was comfortable and met our needs well. The kitchen was well-equipped. Nice to cook on a gas stove and have a full-size fridge. The bed was comfortable. We had good communication with the hosts. A repair to a light switch was done within a day. Lots of hot water for the shower. Unfortunate that the weather was too cool to try the outside tub. Nice to be walking distance from a beach. We would definitely return here.

This suite was a beautiful place to stay and we felt at home right away. The back deck has a view of the ocean but remains private from the the road so noise is kept to a minimum. The space was well taken care of and you can tell the host, Sandra, has put a lot of thought into everything you might need during your stay. Would recommend to all my friends and family!

Magical Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay at foxglove! The cottage is so tastefully designed and decorated and the setting is beautiful nestled amongst the trees. The outdoor bathtub and indoor/outdoor shower were real highlights! We were also really impressed by how well equipped the kitchen was - probably the best I’ve ever encountered from a vacation rental. It’s not a very walkable location but nor is most of Pender and it’s only a short drive from all the highlights on the island. We loved everything about it and had a perfect weekend getaway!

Quiet and serene forest stay

I was looking for a quiet retreat and this was the perfect place. The outdoor tub had a great view and was completely private. The kitchen was filled with everything I needed and more. I found several lovely places for easy-ish hikes in the same area. It was exactly what I had hoped for. Thank you to my host!
