Great location. Unmonitored maintenance. Building shabby.
We rented the property for a month, mainly due to its location. Owner graciously allowed us in two days early, warned us that the place wouldn’t be made up. Wow! The building hallways are filthy. There was one wet towel, all closets and dressers were full of owner’s
personal stuff. We spent several hours cleaning the place, and had to bring in blankets and bedding to use. THE PLACE HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
We also managed to trap two rodents that were scurrying about.
Owner lives in L.A. and property isn’t monitored.. Stay away from this one.

i have been on VBRO and have never had a bad review ...also on another site and have very good reviews...have never had an experience with anyone like this....the guest drove up from Florida and asked to bring their own towels and sheets....they also asked to be allowed to come 2 days before check in time...i have a linen closet in the living room with clean sheets and towels...said have clean sheets ..oh want to bring our own...told him because you are coming 2 days before check in there isn't time for the women i to change the sheets and towel...that is why there was 1 wet towel...no problem he said...saved him 500 dollars....his daughter saw the apartment before he rented it and we gave her keys for them before they arrived ....then after he got in the apartment his whole tone changed....the closet in the bedroom is completely empty the 6 storage drawers underneath the bed empty...the 2 large drawers in bed stand empty....in the living room is a linen closet with blankets sheets and towels....my cloths are in the hallway....there are no pictures of people or books or other stuff being displayed...i keep it uncluttered...most new york apartments aren't kept like this....he became more aggressive after he had been there 10 days or more and called me up demanding me to give him some money for compensation...i said no then he hung up on...had the women taking care of place talk to him as well.....my apartment was not filthy and hadn't any complaint from previous guests...like most of the upper west side it is an older building.....apartment has high ceilings which is great....the building has an elevator that is large and works which is more then a lot of buildings in the area have.......this is new york the upper west side the building was built in 1900 and has a grandness to it .....for it being the month of May he got the whole month at a really good price ....next time he is in New York suggest he stay at a very expensive hotel but might not be satisfied there as well.....

Nice, clean apartment
My Mother and I just spent a long weekend at this apartment. It's perfect for two. Very clean and quiet, with friendly neighbors curious to see new faces so you know it's a well cared for building. Don't plan on much cooking as the kitchen is tight (with all the restaurant choices why would you bother cooking anyway?). Otherwise, a lovely spacious apartment whose owner takes good care of it, and screens potential renters with care so that it stays nice. The neighborhood is residential and nice to walk around. It's also close to bus and subway stops, as well as an easy hop into a cab on Broadway. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!
