At the foot of Sierra Mágina, surrounded by water spring, century-old olive trees, fruit trees...a rural cottage called 'El Agüelo' is located.
The cottage, recently restored, it preserves the rural Andalusia architectural style and it has been equipped and conditioned to caring for all the details, including a careful decoration, to enjoy the tranquility of the field without sacrificing comfort.
It is a home for a single-family, located in Sierra Mágina Natural park, one of the most charming spots in this protected space 'Las Cabritas'. High on a hill, it offers a impressive view of the environment as well as the remote mountain of Sierra Nevada.
It is an ideal place to stay, be relaxed and enjoy the field or as a base to start excellent hiking trails, bike or drive by this nature reserve (Jaen's highest mountain) and the villages of its region, full of charm and traditions, or to cities as Úbeda, Baeza, Jaen or Granada, located less than 1 hour by road and Córdoba, Malaga or Almeria, about 2 hours away.

Das Haus hat alles was man braucht und mehr! Die Lage und die Aussicht sind phantastisch und der Eigentümer ist sehr bemüht und freundlich, er kümmert sich um alles selbst und das merkt man. Es gibt nichts was nicht funktioniert oder ausgewechselt werden muss. Der Pool ist ein Traum, dank des extrem warmen Herbstes genossen wir ihn fast jeden Tag. Unsere Hunde fühlten sich auch sehr wohl und lagen mit Vorliebe in der Sonne. Die letzten ca 400 m der Anfahrt sind etwas 'holprig' aber durchaus machbar. In den umliegendenen Ortschaften kann mann alles kaufen was man benötigt. Die Gegend ist wunderschön und bietet einen hohen Erholungsfaktor! Wir bedanken uns für die Gastfreundlichkeit!

Perfect!

Wonderful house in a beautiful part of Spain. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House was immaculately clean and beds were very comfy. Swimming pool was a perfect size and gated, which is a must for any small children. Esteban's communication was excellent. The house is well situated to visit Granada and some of the lovely nearby towns ( Baeza and Ubeda well worth a visit).

Lovely location off the beaten track

Beautiful rustic cottage. Excellent wifi. Lovely location. One important note for North American—the cottage is not on a paved road. It is difficult to drive to, over very rough terrain by North American standards. If you are uncomfortable driving on rocky paths this is not for you.

Paradise on the sierra hillside!

This beautiful casa is perched along the sierra hillside with fantastic vistas of the mountains, hillside towns and olive groves – it is breathtaking. The house is approximately 20 minutes away from groceries and 45 minutes away from twin cities of Ubeda and Baeza (must sees). We stayed for 4 nights and it seemed like not enough in this hillside paradise. We travelled with another couple and found lots of room in this casa, which very well appointed, extremely clean, and had everything we needed. The highlight of the property was the setting and vista, surrounded by Olive groves, walnut, pomegranate, and pear trees – all bearing fruit to be picked! Esteban, the owner, was very gracious, communicated very well, and left us with fresh fruit, champagne, and olive oil! The road into the casa was accessible and through olive groves – the directions through google maps made it very easy to find. Added extras like the beautiful pool and outdoor kitchen (with brick oven, BBQ, and fridge) made the experience complete. Great hiking available from the backyard with trail maps available in the house. We cannot say enough good things about both Esteban’s home and his hosting – a wonderful place to stay, very unique, and an absolute treasure find. We highly recommend this home for your visit! We will be sure to return another time and continue to discover the hillside towns and trails of Huelma and the Sierra.

Villa comfortable and in a good location. Access through olive groves was relatively easy and attractive (car needed without doubt). Pool was good & much used. First visit to Jaen and enjoyed it. Ubeda well worth a trip & Grenada easily accessible.

Eine Traumwoche

Ende Mai 2019 hat es uns nach Spanien verschlagen. Wir (Paar Ende 20/Anfang 30) waren beim Buchen erst einmal überzeugt von: -Eigener Pool -Outdoorküche -Alleinlage -Umgebung -der Preis Was uns ersteinmal gehindert hat: -Der Weg vom Flughafen (nur mit Mietwagen machbar!) Wie haben uns schlussendlich doch für die 2 Stunden Fahrt mit dem Mietwagen durch die Olivenbaumfelder entschieden und es war ein wunderschöner Urlaub. Es war zu Beginn ein wenig schwierig mit der Kommunikation (über Handy war alles top!), leider sprechen wir kein Spanisch und Esteban wenig englisch, sodass wir uns mit französisch durchschlugen, was aber trotzdem auch mit Hand und Fuß super geklappt hat. Das Haus liegt in der Nähe von Huelma. Ca 12 km entfernt, mitten im Niergendwo und eine relativ beschwerliche Fahrt abseits der viel befahrenen Straßen. Nachbarn sieht man fast garnicht, hört sie aber hin und wieder aus weiter Entfernung. Man hat einen tollen Ausblick auf die Olivenfelder/Berge.. Die Fotos von der Inneneinrichtung werden der Realität nicht gerecht. Viel schöner, als auf den Fotos! Toll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Platz reicht locker für 2 Paare und 2 Kinder (drei Zimmer, eins mit Stockbett). Allerdings steht man sich in der kleinen Küche auch zu zweit schon im Wege. Der Pool ist der Hammer (mehr muss nicht gesagt werden) und es gibt draußen sogar noch ein toll ausgestattetes 2. Badezimmer neben dem Pool und der Outdoorküche. Die Outdoorküche haben wir ausgiebig genutzt. Es fehlten hier ein paar Utensilien für den Steinofen aber wir kamen klar. Wir haben unter anderem ganz tolle Pizza gemacht (trotz Thermometer, das irgendwie die falsche Temperatur anzeigte.. :) ) und jeden Tag gegrillt. Für Leute, die etwas erleben wollen, und nicht nur entspannen, ist es wahrscheinlich etwas langweilig. Esteban hat uns zwar einige Wanderrouten gezeigt, aber wir waren einfach zu faul. Es ist halt wirklich weit raus und alles ist mindestens 12 km entfernt. -Für uns war es aber perfekt so! Wir danken Esteban und seiner Frau für die tolle Gastfreundschaft, für die Erreichbarkeit und die Herzlichkeit. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Peter & Pia

Lovely peaceful area

Leave the city behind and spend a few days here, surrounded by acres of olive trees and serenaded by birds. Very comfortable house. Great location for exploring Granada to the south (1 hour) and Ubeda, a lovely town to the north, a beautiful drive.

A beautiful house in an amazing, pristine area

We booked three nights here at the beginning of our holiday. We had experienced a difficult journey with flight delays and changes leaving us exhausted and irritable. This house and property made us feel relaxed immediately. The house is lovely, very well appointed, and every detail was considered. The pool was great, not too small and the water temperature perfect. The setting is amazing with the mountains and olive trees as far as the eye can see. Esteban and family extremely friendly and helpful.

Really lovely place and people

We spend 10 great days here and really enjoyed it. The house is perfect with a cherry tree onsite. The pool is a perfect size and our children really enjoyed it. They wifi also meant they had full access to Netflix. We dragged them out walking a lot and what a beautiful area with almond trees, pomegrante trees growing on the roadside. The hills are covered in well tended olive groves. Esteban and his lovely family are so welcoming and we really enjoyed our time with them. We felt we saw the real Spain with nice, friendly kind people who are happy to chat. We loved the fiesta that was ongoing when we were there. We paid a trip to Grenada where we had wonderful raciones/tapas and in Baeza where we had churros and chocolate and more tapas. This is a wonderful rural holiday.

La casa esta muy bien y tiene todo lo necesario, además lo encontramos todo limpio y bien. No tienes vecinos cerca por lo que es muy privada y tranquila. La parte de la piscina esta muy bien y puedes comer o tumbarte bajo los racimos de una vid.

sérénité bien être et nature

Un accueil parfait ; on a apprécié le Français d'Esteban sa bouteille de vin de bienvenue. La maison mérite réellement le détour, nichée dans la campagne au milieu des oliviers, elle invite au repos après une bonne journée de visites. Tout y est pensé pour le confort des hôtes, à l'extérieur la piscine vous permet de vous rafraichir, le barbecue à une petite grillade accompagnée d'un petit rosé sous la vigne. Bravo et encore merci à Esteban ; comme il nous l'avait dit vous ici chez vous on y était vraiment. J'oubliais les cerises elles sont excellentes. La meilleure maison de notre périple andalou.

Postcard Perfect Holiday Home

We have enjoyed all the places that we visited in Spain, but I may have to say that this little home, so perfectly and tastefully appointed, has been the nicest VRBO I've ever stayed in. It's as much the home, its owners (Esteban and Vertude), and the peaceful location. We slept, did some swimming (only one day, unfortunately), did a fabulous hike to the start of the Rio Garganton (walk from the home), visited nearby Belmez, and had dinner in Ubeda. The nearby towns of Huelma and Belmez are quaint and worth a visit. If you have kids, visit the Faces of Belmez for a little bit of mystery. Somehow people have yet to discover this wonderful part of Spain with hillsides dotted by olive groves, stunning rock formations above the groves, and kind, thoughtful people. I hope to be back. Perhaps bring friends and plan to stay in this province for a week to do even more hikes and exploring. Thanks so much, Esteban and Vertude. You really made the visit special!

"On the way out of Ubeda and Baeza in Seville stayed for three days with friends in this beautiful house in the mountains. Fantastic place, very quiet and beautiful views make these three days, the most memorable part of our journey. This stylish home has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and Esteban and his wife were very friendly and helpful.
