Squeaky clean and light and breezy location. Dana Point which is known as the most romantic city on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, is located exactly mid-way in between LA and San Diego on the ocean side of the Pacific Coast Highway. Great family room with new TV and dinning table for six. This condo has your family name on for your family vacation. You provide the romance, we provide the rest. Walk just steps down a gentle walkway to the finest sandy beach in sunny Southern California, for your outdoor enjoyment. Close to restaurants, galleries and boutiques at the Dana Point Harbour with 2500 yachts. Take the family to Disney Land one day, the San Diego Zoo the next and Universial Studios next.

We loved our stay at The Nest. It was cozy, very clean and complete with everything we needed. Just a short walk to the beach and into Dana Point. The owners were so attentive and took care of our every need. I would highly recommend this condo and hope to return soon myself.

Best "Beach Nest" in Dana Point

What an amazing July and August in SoCal. Great condo, great weather so close to the ocean on The Strand. Unit has everything you need. Shirley and Rick are great hosts. Stop looking. Rent their Beach Nest.

First Class Everything!

Thank you Shirley and Rick for making our trip to Southern California a memorable and relaxing one!! To any visitors considering this unit, your search should end with this unit. The furnishings are luxurious yet comfortable. The condo is very clean and well stocked. The owners, Rick and Shirley provide you with just about everything you can think of or dream of. Appliances are new and top of the line. Washer and Dryer actually made doing laundry less of a chore. More than anything however, Rick and Shirley are very attentive and quick to answer their phones if there are any issues or questions. We would have booked the unit again for our trip in July but its already booked - and now we know why!

It really is a home away from home!

I agree with the other renters, it was great staying here at the Nest. We were there for over a month and liked it so much we even looked at places for sale in the community. We'd definitely come back. Even though it was a horrible heat wave during September, while we were there, and there is no ac, it's surprisingly tolerable with all the doors and windows open. We only had two semi rough nights, but understand that was with very odd temperatures of over 98 degrees. It was just my hubby and myself there, so it was a nice quiet time. You will have some neighbors around, but for the most part, they are very respectable and quiet. You do get some odd weekend renters there off and on who aren't used to being quiet and that can be interesting. It helps to use your library voices around there, unless you'd like your neighbors to be part of your conversation. Everyone has their windows open, most of the time. The owners of the Nest are a pleasure to deal with and really keep the place up to their own standards as they also stay their part of the time when not renting out. The place is every bit as lovely as the pictures describe, they keep it very clean and it's a great place for folks like me, that like it hypoallergenic, non-smoking and pet free. I think if you are a respectful and quiet vacationer you will be very happy here. The beach is beautiful and quite a walk down and quite the walk or run up (think steep and long) if you are in very good shape. I walked it, hubby ran it. lol On the weekends from Sept-May you can take the funicular back up the hill from the beach and it does run all summer. Side note: Angelina's is a great pizza place in the area, they are from Italy and make true Italian pizza, right on down to the imported flour, espresso and other items. It's hard to write this review because we want to go back, and it's funny I feel oddly protective of the owners so treat them right! :) They're good folks and they'll treat you right.

Deluxe condo at Dana Point

The Beach Nest is by far the best vacation rental we have stayed in. Its location can't be beat for touring the many attractions in So. Cal. including access to the beach. The condo was immaculate with many upgrades including granite counters, wood floors, high ceilings, and comfortable beds. The owners have thought of everything. Shirley and Rick were a pleasure to work with and were prompt in answering any questions that I had. We look forward to returning to The Beach Nest.

Smash Hit!

This condo is a SMASH HIT! You would be hard pressed to find a condo like this one-----squeaky clean, beautifully done----the master suite a true delight with a new bathroom, a kitchen equipped with all the extras you could imagine, a living room so very comfortable, two porches on which to relax and enjoy an evening, beach within sight for some awesome sunsets, excellent restaurants close by, trips to Disney, a snap, the wonders of Laguna Beach just up the road with it shops and restaurants---try C'est La Vie for a real treat---just charming. Dana Point, while being close to the action, has an atmosphere that is quiet and relaxing----just how you want to end the day. The owners, Shirley and Rick, are a pleasure to work with and their Beach Nest shows just how much they care. Felt like coming home...

The beach nest has every thing you need to have a comfortable holiday: fully equiped kitchen; nice living room and fantastic bedrooms and bathrooms. We've spend a lot of time at the balcony also. The condo was fully equiped (from hair dryer to towel - Shirley provides everything). The area is really nice!!!! My son also enjoyed the private swimming pool. Dana Point is a good location if you want to visit places like Disneyland, Universal Studios and Sea World. Because Dana Point is located right in the middle. We really hope to come back one day!

A PERFECT VACATION HOME WAITING FOR YOU!

This is your home away from home. No detail is overlooked, from the beach accessories for fun in the sun to maps and directions for local restaurants and attractions. The beds are a perfect 10 to sleep on, and the kitchen rivals any gourmet cooks home. Just a few steps from the beach entrance where you can view nightly sunsets or just sit on one of the two patios and sip wine and listen to the ocean- you won't be disappointed! Owners are very accommodating and professional. We took our 3 college children and everyone agreed it was the best family trip we have ever taken.....

Wonderful and relaxing experience

We stayed at this property for one week and felt relaxed and comfortable from the start. The local area and environment was very clean and well maintained, people were friendly and welcoming. Location to the beach was fine and only a short stroll - the beach and ocean were great. The condo was spacious enough for our family of four, we enjoyed using the BBQ and pool and sitting on the balconies in the evening. Dana Point was a lovely area and we were pleased to have chosen this part of southern california. Shirley and her son Derek were more than helpful and all contact and transactions were efficiently and quickly followed through. We would highly recommend this property to any other interested family thinking on visiting the area. Thanks again guys and hope to be able to visit you again soon. Fabulous beach front property.

The home was excellent. 2 bed, 2 bath, directly across from strand beach. It has great access to the pacific coast highway as well. We stayed for 2 months and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Home from Home in a Gorgeous Location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beach Nest; Shirley is a lovely lady and really thought of everything to make us feel at home during our stay! We found the condo to be exceptionally clean with very comfortable sofas, reclining chairs and beds. Our only recommendation would be to replace the pillows which we found lumpy, and perhaps provide additional pillows for those who like more comfort. There were plenty of towels, beach towels, beach chairs etc. We were impressed that Shirley had even thought of providing shampoo, conditioner and body wash in our bathroom - luxuries that you wouldn't expect with many vacation rentals. The location is exceptionally quiet and relaxing, which was just what we are looking for in a vacation property. Just a very short walk to Stands Beach which was simply beautiful! Ralphs grocery store is just a 3 minute drive away and if you provide them with the condo telephone number you will get a nice discount on your groceries (thankyou, Shirley!). Be sure to eat at Schwak's Beach Grille, only a short walk away, their food is superb and fresh with an excellent variety - try the fish tacos or veggie burger and you won't be disappointed! We would certainly recommend staying at the Beach Nest; it is the perfect vacation property for a relaxing and quiet vacation with close proximity to a lovely beach.

My husband and I live in Iowa "most" of the year. We have family in Dana Point , so we bought our Beach Nest in 2007. We feel fortunate to be able to escape winter in Iowa and love our walks on Strand Beach. Such a perfect location!!!!!!!!!
