This is a very cute apartment for two, with a short walking distance to the beach. The apartment has a nice little terrace as well, which made meals al fresco quite lovely! Rosaria was very attentive and helpful at all times and was very easy to reach.
There are, however, some improvements to be made. The master bedroom mattress was terrible; it was more akin to a large cot and not comfortable at all. Another simple change would be to replace the bathroom shower drain-- not a costly "repair," but one that is necessary. The kitchen needs to be better equipped. For vacationers who plan on eating meals out every day (especially dinner), it's fine. However, we prefer cooking dinners and it was almost impossible. This is not a full-size kitchen. There are two tiny hotel-type refrigerators, so purchasing melons was impossible, nor could we keep our water refrigerated in order to save space for food products. There were, literally, five forks, four or five knives and a few spoons, and no space to prepare food.. The stove consisted of two electric burners that did not work properly when used together.
Although there was a second bedroom (with bunk-beds) for children, we could not imagine a family of four staying there comfortably with so little space.
We are in Sicily every year and so we've experienced many of its beautiful beaches. The beach at Isola is not one of the nicest. While the views are superb, as is true throughout western Sicily, the beach itself was not that clean, prompting us to keep away from Isola in the future. Also, if you have young children who are accustomed to sand-bottom water, beware; there are lots of rocks and holes on that sand so hold their hands tightly! There are some cute shops and tasty restaurants lungomare but the beach just isn't worth it.
Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay, but we have some reservations about giving it the full five stars given the issues discussed, above.
