Usko Rural Cottage with pool, tennis court and gardens

Rural house located in the term of Lezama, Ayala Valley. It is a place where you can disconnect from the worldly noise of big cities and at the same time be close to them; Vitoria-Gasteiz 25 minutes and Bilbao 25 minutes (Guggenheim, Euskalduna Palace, Fair of samples).


Lezama (Álava) is a rural enclave with scattered hamlets surrounded by forests of oaks, beech, pine trees that invite you to hiking, gathering wild fruits, mushroom season. It is very close to the natural park of Gorbea 10 minutes, Valderejo 30 minutes and places of great beauty such as Sierra Salvada, birth of the Nervión and waterfall of Gujuli. We have private parking, 12x7 pool, 36x18 tennis court and garden with barbecue.

The property was set in lovely grounds with a great swimming pool and tennis court. It is in a beautiful area with beaches, beautiful walks and Bilbao in easy reach. Whilst the bedrooms were lovely what wasn't clear in the listing was that the bedrooms are in different places for example three bedrooms in the house, three in a separate annex and one in the basement. This was just about ok for us but could be difficult for others, there was lots of entertaining space outside which was good most of the time but we had a couple of overcast and colder evenings when for 16 of us space was limited inside. The kitchen area was also quite small, Having said all that we did have a lovely time. The owners were very communicative and friendly too.

Travelling with 4 generations (my in-laws, children and grand children) this property was absolutely ideal as we had a separate annex, basement quarters, ground level bedroom and two bedrooms upstairs - all of which had ensuite facilities. Perfect for everyone to have their own space. The owners quarters are locked up.The pool and the grounds were beautiful, peaceful and private with many varied areas to sit in or out of the Sun. Our grandchildren made the most of the pool and gained valuable swimming experience being in there so often. No fence round the pool so you had to keep and eye on them but that was not an issue as we do.Vicente the owner was so friendly (spoke far better English than I do Spanish which I hugely appreciated) and once booked in he left us to it. Was fast to reply to any questions on WhatsApp, a perfect host.There's the town Amurrio 15 minutes drive away and Laudio about 25 so simple to go for provisions. Both lovely places with many pintxos.We had such an amazing time and am so grateful to Vicente for the loan of his wonderful property.Thank you!

Au calme, en Pays Basque espagnol...

Calme absolu et location très très agréable !, et très bien placée en basse montagne, à proximité de toutes sortes de balades magnifiques et de visites. Quelques petits détails à peaufiner, mais le propriétaire nous a justement interrogés au départ sur ce que nous pensions qu'il pouvait améliorer... Il est très sympa !😁

Belle semaine dans une grande maison avec extérieurs agréables

Nous avons passé une agréable semaine avec un groupe de 16 dans la location de Vincente et sa femme. Nous avions loué les deux parties de la maison disponibles à la location et le propriétaire nous avait gentiment laissé l’ensemble de la propriété, puisqu’une partie de celle ci est normalement occupée par eux. Les chambres spacieuses étaient en nombre suffisant pour accueillir tout notre groupe et la literie ainsi que les salles de bain attenantes étaient très appréciables (bémol : les salles de bain de la plus petite dépendance étaient assez humides). On a particulièrement apprécié la propreté des lieux et l’hospitalité de Vincente, ainsi que les extérieurs (jardin, court de tennis et piscine). La maison est idéalement située si l’on veut être tranquille dans la campagne autour de Bilbao, mais reculée de tout commerce (il faut nécessairement prendre la voiture). Le principal problème rencontré fut électrique, puisque le réseau de la maison semblait trop léger pour accueillir un groupe aussi conséquent, et les deux cuisines ne pouvaient pas être utilisées en même temps.

"Le logement est parfaite...

"Le logement est parfaitement situé au cœur du pays basque espagnol entre Bibao et Vitoria, et à 3 Kms d''Ammurrio. La maison est grande, fraiche et parfaitement entretenue. Les équipements sont récents, l''environnement très agréable. Les points faibles sont les suivants : - La cuisine est située au sous sol, il est donc nécessaire de descendre et monter des escaliers exigus pour y accéder. - présence de nombreuses guêpes qui nous ont un peu gâchés les vacances. - le cour de tennis est très appréciable, seulement il y a quelques trous sur le terrain - le propriétaire n''accepte pas les chèques barrés !! prévoir des espèces !! - Le propriétaire (même s''il n''est pas là tout les jours) habite sur place dans une autre partie de la maison"
