This delightful “jewel” is situated on a hillside overlooking the ocean and the Simpson Bay Lagoon with one of the best views on the island! The pool deck is a perfect place to enjoy this 180-degree view during the day or at night under the stars. It’s great for lounging by the pool, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, or a romantic dinner with that special someone.

During the day, the pool is an excellent way to cool off, swim some laps, or relax on a float reading a book. Just a short 3-minute walk from Bijou, is Baie Rouge, one of the most beautiful beaches in St. Martin, where you can go for a swim or snorkel in the warm, crystal clear, Caribbean blue water. Then you can lay out your towel on the sand, so you can enjoy the warm sun, ocean air, and sound of the water.

At the villa, the remodeled kitchen has all the amenities and is an enjoyable place to fix a meal if you want to take a break from eating out at one of the many wonderful restaurants in St. Martin. Barbecue fresh fish on the patio grill for a real treat!

During the day, you can open the shutters onto the pool deck for an open Caribbean living experience, filled with sunshine, tropical air, and views of the water and beautiful garden surrounding the villa. Together with the open floor plan, this creates an enchanting, spacious, and carefree ambience. There is often a cool breeze that comes up the hill from the ocean and lagoon, helping to cool the afternoons.

In the main house, there is a master bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bathroom; and a smaller bedroom with a queen size bed and bathroom across the hall that is perfect for one adult or two children. There is a separate studio cottage with a king size bed, bathroom, and small kitchen just a hundred feet from the main house. This is ideal for another couple, a single relative, or a teenager who wants some space! All bedrooms are air-conditioned.

The Baie Rouge area where Bijou is located is safe, with a gated entrance during nighttime hours. It is just a 15-minute drive from Princess Juliana Airport, and grocery stores are conveniently located just 5 minutes away by car. Marigot, the capital of the French side of St. Martin is a short 10-minute drive, and Grand Case, the “gourmet capital of the Caribbean” is a 20-minute drive.

Included in the rental is a bi-weekly house cleaning but arrangements can be made for cleaning services more often if desired. Our friendly, on island contact and housekeeper, Cindy, will be attentive to your needs. The owner is always happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
