This small, 1-bedroom, 1-bath hideaway can sleep 2 people comfortably. It is situated in the hills of west Atascadero on the backside of the coastal mountains, high above the valley that stretches for miles. It is perched in the oak trees making this a spectacular, private, “tree-house” setting.

In addition to stunning views, this apartment is located in the heart of wine country with easy access to the central coast beaches, hiking trails, and restaurants. Paso Robles, with over 300 wineries is 15 minutes away, and San Luis Obispo is a 25-minute drive. Avila Beach, Cayucos Beach, Morro Bay, and Cambria are approximately 20-30 minutes away.

Airy and cozy, this place is newly remodeled with all new stainless steel appliances - dishwasher, microwave and stove, granite counters, tile flooring, fireplace, AC, flat-screen TV with DVD player and a queen-size bed. The outdoor patio overlooks a million-dollar view and a place to watch the wildlife; a perfect place to relax for a quiet morning coffee or sip the local wine while watching the beautiful sunset.

Owners, Bill and Paula, are retired educators and world travelers. They will be glad to give you suggestions about special places to visit and things to do in the area. With advanced notice they can arrange a driver for you to go wine tasting. This is a place you will want to come back to as often as possible.

Quiet hideaway

Beautiful view, clean and comfy accommodations, perfect for two. Close to town but feels secluded at the same time. Lots of wildlife around. Host is easy to reach and responds quickly. Check in and out was seamless. We’d definitely stay here again!

Great location

Our stay was 5 stars all the way. Absolutely stunning view of the valley. Great location if your looking for a base to visit Paso Robles, SLO or Atascadero. Will request to stay again on future trips to the area.

2nd times a charm!

This was our 2nd time staying at this beautiful little cottage amongst the oaks. Quiet, serene, beautiful view and near nature. Awoke with a handsome spike horn buck and eagle just outside our window one morning. This is such a lovely place to come and calm the mind. Perfect place to escape for a weekend birthday celebration!

Wonderful place

Even though the space was small, the layout was excellent and made the place very comfortable. The view is magnificent, and the quiet was appreciated. Lots of birds, beautiful large oak trees, and a great porch to sit and enjoy it all. Great, welcoming hosts, as well. Thank you.

There are exspansive views from this lovely place. It has been done VERY nicely and is super clean. Loved it except for the sofa sleeper which was extremely uncomfortable on a senior's back. Overall, exceptionally pleased with our stay!

Hidden gem of Atascadero

We could not have been happier with this little cozy cabin on the hill. The views were spectacular and the environment so serene. Paula and Bill had great directions to the place and helpful instructions for everything needed inside the cabin. The only things missing were our warmer clothes and Keurig which we forgot to bring. We have already booked this lovely place for a future visit this year.

Cozy Apartment with Amazing Views

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very clean and comfortable little apartment. The pictures in the listing do not do it justice. It is decorated nicely and fully equipped with all the amenities anyone could possibly need. The check in process was very simple and while we were aware that the owners were on the property, we never saw them. The property is beautiful and the views were breathtaking. Definitely a place we would like to return to.

The apartment was tiny, clean, well-organized, and with spectacular views. Exactly as advertised. Bill and Paula were excellent hosts. When the power went out due to a storm, they even brought candles and checked on us.

Nature Scenery is Beautiful

This has been our second official stay at this beautiful, clean, well maintained, and welcoming place. There's nothing like being awakened by nature and the woodpeckers didn't disappoint. It's certainly better than being woken up by neighboring dogs that's for sure! The hosts are truly kind, generous, thoughtful, and considerate with their guests. We are very appreciative to them for opening up their guest home for others like us, to enjoy such a serene and relaxing get-a-way. We have no complaints whatsoever and will never take our stay for granted if we were to go back in the future. Thank you Bill and Paula!

Wow!

This is perfect for a couple’s get away! The space is just right and the kitchen is big enough and user friendly. The bed is one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in! (We are currently trying to figure out what model of tuft and needle it is so we can buy one!) Potential guests: make sure your itinerary includes a morning to have your breakfast on the deck to enjoy the view and listen to the birds.

Maximized space, some oddities

I truly think the owners maximized this space and because of that I gave a really good overall review. It was clean and comfortable. We cooked breakfast there at least one morning without problems. Also, the location was reasonable as a stepping off point for wine tasting in Paso Robles. however, there are some odd things about the space. First the road and the driveway to the space are narrow and steep. that in and of itself isn’t a problem. however, turning around in the parking space given for the stay was difficult at times. Also, the bed takes up, literally almost the whole bedroom, so in order to have two suitcases in the room, I had to typically climb over the bottom of the bed to get into bed. Overall, a nice place to stay and the price was right however, on reflection, maybe we would’ve spent a little bit more for a different spot.

Anniversary wine tasting getaway!

My husband and I booked this property for our 16th wedding anniversary. Our goal was to do some wine tasting and visit the local areas such as Morro Bay and Cambria. What we did not expect was to absolutely fall in love with Atascadero. First of all, the accommodations were clean, inviting and comfortable. The views were amazing and we truly appreciated the quiet serene environment. Our hostess was really great. We had a bit of a difficult time finding the place so we reach out to the owner and sge quickly answered the phone and got us turned around. It was very chilly during our stay and on day 2, she offered us a down comforter and brought it over to us. She also let us know about the local events that weekend and we had a wonderful time getting to know the town. The only thing we found disappointing was that we did not stay long enough. Next time, we will need a full week. Wineries were within easy driving as were restaurants, shopping and our favorite little beach towns. Check in and out was super easy, convenient, and well explained. Thank you so much for a 5 star stay!

Beautiful view and very peaceful. The only drawback is it is quite a drive up and down a very long and pretty steep hill to come and go. But if you are looking to just hang out and have a peaceful vacation, this is definitely the place! And you can’t beat the price compared to a hotel.

Treetop Delight!

Wonderful stay, I was perched at the top of a hill with stunning views of the fog rolling in. It was absolutely peaceful yet close to everything in Paso Robles. Clean, convenient, and unique. If you want the “wow” property stay for your trip this one is it!! Highly recommend, the hosts are kind, helpful, and responsive!

Beautiful getaway

They have travelled in many different countries and have lived in Singapore, Fiji, and Bolivia. They are friendly and willing to provide any guidance you may need in finding all the fun places and beautiful attractions to see in the area. They live on the property, but they respect other's privacy and are available if needed.

We love this area, because of the beautiful location of views on every side of the property. The air is clean and crisp and you can feel 'away from it all', yet still be close enough to restaurants, beautiful beaches, hiking/walking, and fantastic wineries.

What makes this property unique

There is something therapeutic about being surrounded by hills and trees and fresh air. We think you will love being semi-secluded on this hilltop perch that overlooks the north county wine country and coastal mountains.
