About this property
Quiet stay in a small country village
Come and enjoy the calm of village life in the very typical Haut Nivernais. Our cottage, classified 3 ears by Gîtes de France, completely renovated with respect for the authenticity of the place, welcomes you in a country and comfortable setting. Linen is provided and beds made upon arrival.
In winter you can enjoy a good wood fire. In fine weather, from the kitchen, you access the garden, a large awning and the vegetable patch.
Bicycles are available for a ride in the village and the surroundings.
You can go for a walk to explore the landscapes and charming villages to discover the churches, the washhouses and the old farms with local stone architecture.
Many festivals in summer: "Chemin des Arts" in Authiou at 4km, "Little daydreams" in Brinon sur Beuvron at 10km ...
40 km from La Charité / Loire 50 km from Vézelay, a stage village of Saint Jacques de Compostelle and 80 km from the medieval site of Guédelon, the Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé vineyards
The Nièvre has many advantages. Composed of a third of forest, a third of meadow and a third of cultivated land, it is a rural department. Fief of Charolais and Pouilly-Fumé it is a terroir to discover. Cow and goat cheese, foie gras, more modest local vineyards such as Tannay Wine, Côteau Charitois are among the gastronomic riches of Nivernais.
In terms of nature, the immense Bertranges forest massif, the Puisaye, the Nivernais Canal, the Loire, the Morvan lakes as well as the Merle and Baye ponds with their nautical base, the GR654 Chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle, the Morvan mountain bike circuits and finally the network of rural paths not always marked but very rich.
If we push beyond the limits of the department, we must also discover the Bec d'Allier and the village of Apremont, the Butte de Sancerre and its famous white wine, the medieval site of Guédelon and its fortified castle under construction , the country Forterre as well as Vézelay and its vineyard, the granite and authentic landscapes of the Morvan as a whole.
