The location was good. Close to restaurants and grocery store. The apartment was unique and offers a comfortable stay. The only drawback is there is no toilet on the first level and the guest staying downstairs will have to climb up to the 2nd level bedroom to use shower/toilet. Other than this inconvenience it was a good stay. Host was very helpful and responsive.

Jose was the best host we could have asked for. When we arrived he spent an hour and a half showing us his beautiful city and sharing his family’s history. The home is 300 years old but had all the necessary modern conveniences. House of Charm is a perfect description. We walked all over Porto and other than using the funicular we didn’t need to use public transportation. Great location and nice and quiet.We hope one day to return to Porto and will definitely stay at the House of Charm. Thanks Jose for the wonderful memories. Wendy and Marlene. Cute get away in Porto

Lovely host & accommodations, close to everything we wanted to do. We parked our car (free parking behind the property) & walked everywhere.

A wonderful property in a perfectly situated neighborhood within walking to great restaurants, Cathedral and Gaia district. Host was incredibly personable and helpful in every way. An absolute gem!!

Great location!

Was so close to everything and the host was incredible- def went above and beyond to ensure we knew where we were and had to go! The apartment is beautiful and well kept. My onlyyyyyy thought is that the bed was very hard- we both did not sleep well. But the pros very much outweigh the cons- def worth staying!

Dream vacation in Porto!

Our trip to Porto was great! Our host, Jose, was the main reason for our experience! He met us at the property (an updated apartment in a 300 year old home), and proceeded to take UA on a tour of the surroundings, showing us restaurants, shops and sights we might be interested in. Jose is a true ambassador for his city of Porto! He made it so easy for us to navigate the city and made it very easy to use our time efficiently since we only had 3 days in the city. The apartment was a welcome place to come home to ta the end of the day. Jose has thought of everything that you would need. Definitely plan on returning some day. Would definitely recommend. Jose went out of his way for us. He picked us up early to drive us to the bus station and on the way took us for a tour of Palacio do Fleixo, a gorgeous palace on the Douro River. Can’t say enough good things about both Jose and his apartment!

Ce qui démarque ce site est la qualité EXCEPTIONNELLE de l'accueil de José ! Il était présent à l'accueil et nous a fait faire le tour du quartier pour nous présenter les endroits à visiter et utiles (épicerie, pharmacie ect.). Et que dire de cet endroit magnifique correspondant en tout point à la présentation des lieux sur le site de Vrbo. Très fonctionnel avec une touche artistique rendant ce lieu unique. Toutes les commodités pour bien dormir et cuisiner sont au rendez-vous.

A great welcome to Porto

José welcomed and showed me around his property which is quirky and lovely and has everything that is needed.José even took the time to show me around the area on foot recommending me restaurants and taking me to the local supermarket, all of which are an easy walk to from the property.One great plus of the property was that it was always cool, even when it was 36c I did not need the Aircon on.It is such a good location and is close enough to the metro that you can get the metro to and from the airport and take the short mainly flat route from Campo 24 Agosto on foot.Thank you José

Great spot and warm host!

Our host, Jose, was there to welcome us! He took us on a lengthy walking tour of the area, explaining the city’s history and showing us some sites. He was warm and kind and treated us to cappuccino and traditional pastry custard tarts! Flat was authentic Portugal in a historic building very convenient to lots of spots. Perfect for 2-3 people. One suggestion only - more hot water for showers and better shower rod and curtain and better shower head. We really loved having two toilets and sinks, though! We would definitely recommend but no long showers here.

Eine tolle Zeit!

Wir hatten eine richtig schöne Zeit im House of Charm und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir wurden sehr herzlich in Empfang genommen durch José, es gab direkt sehr leckeren Kaffee und Pasteis de Nata. Wir bekamen ein paar richtig gute Tipps für unsere Zeit in Porto, welche wir dann auch aktiv angehen konnten. Dabei war die tolle Lage des Objekts auch sehr behilflich. Für das abendliche, gemütliche Einkehren war ebenfalls gesorgt, in der Umgebung des Hauses gibt es jede Menge gute Lokale. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit in Porto!

Great locations and great host

José’s house is on the edge of everything you want to see in Porto, so we walked everywhere. The house was well organized although you shouldn’t expect a North American look. This is a 300 year old house! There is free street parking out the door, which was very convenient. There is a laundromat and grocery store (with a good cafeteria) a block away). José took the time not only to make recommendations of where to go but also to take me to the grocery store and laundry so I would know where they are! He was incredibly helpful while we were in Porto. While the house had little natural light, it was amply provided with lamps and we were able to see and knit in the main room.

Un séjour des plus intéressants à Porto

Cher José, Merci pour votre chaleureux accueil. Nous avons eu le privilège de vivre pendant une semaine dans votre maison familiale du XVIIe siècle, rénovée par vos soins. Nous avons été ravis de l’emplacement de la maison dans Porto et de l’excellent (et grand) lit où nous avons pu bien nous reposer chaque nuit, la tranquillité du quartier aidant. Merci aussi de nous avoir fait faire le tour du quartier à notre arrivée et de nous avoir indiqué où trouver tout ce dont nous avons eu besoin au cours de la semaine. Cela a grandement facilité notre activité touristique. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les deux salles de toilette ainsi que les capsules d’excellent café que vous avez mises à notre disposition. Le Wifi fonctionne très bien, ce qui nous facilite grandement la vie. Nous avons grandement apprécié les discussions que nous avons eues avec vous. Nous espérons que nos chemins se croiseront de nouveau et que nous pourrons vous rencontrer ici à Porto ou ailleurs! Nous vous souhaitons aussi le plus grand succès dans vos projets sociaux.

very good location

This flat is beautiful and quirky and a good base to start from when exploring Porto. When considering self-catering, some more applicances are needed to make it work. Also, having access to a warm water tap in the kitchen would be an advantage. Given the proximity to breakfast, lunch and dinner places most people probably won't miss that. Other than that it is a wonderful place to be in and the host has been very welcoming and generous in giving us very useful information about this gorgeous city.

Un séjour très agréable

José est un hôte merveilleux la chaleur de son accueil l’écoute ses petits conseils de visite qui on rendu ce séjour merveilleux. Il est au petit soin il veille à ce que nous passons un séjour où nous pouvons découvrir toute la culture de Porto les paysages fabuleux.
