Designed and furnished as a second home for the architect/owner's family, it's almost twice the size of any other apartment in the Tuhillo building. 180 sq m. - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry, a large, modern, fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, two separate lounges (both seafacing), a front terrace directly overlooking the pool and the sea, as well as a huge 80 sq. m. private rooftop with sun loungers and a BBQ for dining under the stars. Year round Community garden and pool. Air conditioning/heating throughout. Plus high speed fibre optic internet/wifi. This third floor walk up is just a 6 minute stroll to the main town square, making a car an option, not a requirement. Due to the very special nature of this facility, rentals limited to 2-7 people.

Ideal for families, friends and couples, its generous indoor setup gives everyone loads of personal space. A Smart TV offers English and international programs (Netflix etc). Connect you Iphone or Ipad to the in-house stereo. You will also find a large library of books for beach or poolside reading. THE NEIGHBOURHOOD: Quiet residential district with a great little café on the corner. Any number of excellent restaurants, cafes, bars and shops are just a stroll away.

THINGS TO DO: Down on the beach there are water sports from kayaks and pedalos, to parasailing. Or enjoy a wood-fired paella at the “chiringuito” restaurants on Burriana beach. Take the kids to visit the famous Nerja Caves, or the pirate tower at Maro just down the coast! Wander the streets of Nerja, a typical Andalusian town and enjoy the atmosphere. Browse the Tuesday street market. Or Visit the Moorish fortification at nearby Almuñecar and Salobreña. More for the kids? Sea Life, the Selwo Dolphin show & Tivoli World, all at a drivable distance in Benalmadena; the water slide park at Velez Malaga, and even a crocodile farm. Tired yet? How about a day with a good book on the apartment rooftop's sun loungers.

FOR ACTION ADVENTURERS, rent a mountain bike or a motor scooter and hit the many twisting mountain roads. Or venture further with a guided Jeep tour deep into the nearby national park. Hike the walking paths in the mountains surrounding the town.

3L was born from a dream in the late 60’s, when I put my Canadian architecture career on hold to pursue my love of songwriting in Spain. Ultimately I returned to Canada and to architecture but I had fallen deeply in love with the south of Spain. Nora (a documentary director) and I returned years later to create a place where we could raise our 2 sons. For 14 years, we spent 6 months a year in Nerja, with our boys attending local Spanish schools. We rented out 3L each time we returned to Canada. Over time we have developed lasting connections with the local community.

Why they chose this property

Tim toured the Costa del Sol coast from Valencia to Estepona before finding this very special property in a pretty little coastal town. Our kids love the hiking in the surrounding countryside. The proximity of the beach. And the fact that in winter, you can be up on the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevadas in less than 2 hours. As parents, we love the spaciousness of the place that offers any family group, both personal breathing room, and a variety of wonderful places to gather in. We still sit over breakfast on the front terrace over breakfast looking out over the sea and along the dramatic coastline and marvel at how we found such a place!

What makes this property unique

Make no mistake. This is a family home, equipped well beyond a holiday retreat. Clients frequently comment that the spaces are generous beyond what the photographs suggest. And that the apartment "far exceeds their expectations." As for the view, it is no accident that the Spanish tourism board chose the view of the beach from the west end of Tuhillo's garden to feature in an international Spanish Tourism Campaign a few years ago. (See photo from the campaign included in photos for this listing.) We have a true love of the Nerja area and will do everything we can to help you get the most out of your vacation.
