Lovely stay with a few 'buts'
The owner was friendly, very pleasant and helpful. She welcomed us on arrival and was available throughout our stay, giving helpful suggestions on local events and places to visit. On arrival, the standard of cleaning was not up to our expectations and we spent the first few hours cleaning. The host did admit that she had rushed the cleaning as we had arrived in the town (not at the house) early. However, it should have been much better and all areas should have been cleaned and checked before we moved in. The decor and furnishings were quite tired. The Wi-Fi worked well in the main part of the house. Air conditioning was available in the two (main) upstairs bedrooms; an air conditioning unit and a fan were available in two of the other three bedrooms. These downstairs bedrooms were damp and needed the dehumidifier (which was in one of the bedrooms) to be on all the time. The house is very large and the grounds equally spacious and well maintained. It is great for families and entertaining. The swimming pool was regularly cleaned and well used by our family. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and the beds were comfortable. It was obvious from the personal belongings in all areas of the house, including many wardrobes, that this was the owner's house. There was plenty of hot water. Only one shower was a proper, stand in shower; for two you had to hold the shower hose and the shower head on the fourth was too low for those taller than 155cm. The property is located in a quiet, exclusive residential area, a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute walk from the centre of Vence, a 30 minute drive from the centre of Nice/airport and within an hour of Monaco. Therefore, ideal for those who wish to stay at the property or visit the local attractions. We had a great family holiday, but unfortunately, the standard of cleaning will always mar our memories.

Our group holiday
A beautiful property. Lots of places to sit in the garden. Good social spaces. Ideal for adult groups looking for areas to socialise and areas to be on your own.

An idyllic location on the Cote D'Azur
The ambience and the location of the property is wonderful. The area around Vence is beautiful and has easy access to other historic towns in the area which are all quite special, I particularly enjoyed Valbonne. The choice of restaurants and quality of food in the area is excellent. The city of Nice has many different attractions - the flower market being a highlight of my trip. I felt I could go back and explore the area as it has so much to offer.

Hidden Gem in Cote d'Azur
This is truly a hidden gem. Tucked away in the medieval village of Vence, within close distance to the village (about 1.5 miles) and yet far enough for privacy, this villa can transform in whatever you want it to be. I had the pleasure of experiencing dinner parties, Sunday Brunch, music, dancing, singing, cooking lessons, hiking in the beautiful forest near by, as well as curling up and relaxing next to the fireplace with a nice glass of wine. I love the convenience of the location, as the villa is only 20min from Nice and the stunning beaches of the French Riviera, the Nice airport, maybe 7min from the famous St. Paul de Vence with it's eclectic art galleries, another 30min from Cannes, Monaco and 45min from the Italian border. It's in a perfect location that mixes the old world with the new. The medieval village with a state of the art, lifestyle shopping center just 10min away that has restaurants, movie theater, casino and all the stores you could want. As beautiful and comfortable as the villa is, what separates this villa from any other property is the hospitality, warmth and graciousness of its amazing host, Asa! Couldn't have experienced a lovelier time and will definitely be back. Warmest Regards, Denice R.

I'm Swedish and my husband English, we bought this villa with a Scandinavian feel to it in 2001. We loved the open plan living and the fact that sun shines in all day long and with huge windows overlooking the large garden and pool.
Our 3 children wen to the local school in Vence that was just a 15 minuets walk away. We now live mainly in London.

Why they chose this property

Sunny and so different to the local rather dark provincial villas
The town of Vence was a excellent place with all its history and shops bonus was it was in the country but just 15/20 minuets from Nice airport.

What makes this property unique

The space of the villa makes it so wonderful and the large flat garden such a bonus.
Short distance to the town of Vence, with plenty of restaurants and museums.
The large supermarket is just a 5 minutes drive away.
