We enjoyed our stay so much. The area is beautiful and the house is comfy and relaxing. We loved being so close to so many fun activities (like City Harbor, Buck’s Pocket) while still being on a quiet area of the lake. Dave is very friendly and helpful and knows so much about the area.
House was very spacious for the 5 of us. The owner was very good on preparing and communicating. Very clean and comfortable. Boat ramp across the street was very convenient. Covered carport was perfect for my boat. It’s just a perfect house in a perfect location to enjoy Lake Guntersville and the surrounding area.
This was a clean place with everything one might need for a comfortable stay. I would only recommend a few more lamps but no complaints. Thank you!

Wonderful experience!
This was by far the best VRBO experience I've ever had. The cottage was extremely clean, and Dave was very hospitable. He came by to meet us personally, and there were no extra or hidden fees in the nightly rate. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a quiet, clean, restful stay 'away from it all.'

Rachel - We appreciate the kind words. We're very glad you not only had a great time at the cabin, but also at the State Park and Cathedral Caverns. We hope to see you again in the future!
Made last minute vacation plans to fish on Guntersville. This was the perfect location! Next to a boat ramp for quick on and off the lake. The cabin was perfect! Looked better than the pictures online. Met all our needs! David was great to work with! Will be back!
Everything was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the space in the house so we could spread out relax. Great to be located between Scottsboro and Guntersville—easy to access activities in either area. Beautiful area with lakes everywhere!
We loved our stay at Bakers Cabin plenty of sleeping room and room to enjoy some relaxation! The location was perfect for us since it’s close to family that lives near Huntsville so they were able to come see us and visit! We would definitely book this home again when we’re in the area! Only negative thing we have (which has nothing to do with rental or owners) but boaters beware if you bring your boat on this end of the lake! There appears to be a huge problem with hydrilla grass and it will wrap around your prop! Also if you aren’t familiar with the lake buy a map or talk with locals (which we didn’t and had to learn the hard way) even in the middle of the lake water was only 2 feet deep😟 just do your research! We definitely will before we take our boat back out on this end of the lake.
We loved this cabin. This is extra clean and you will see this the moment you arrive. Very easy to book. It was very well equipped with everything you can imagine. The beds were comfortable. Loved the walk in shower and plenty of hot water. We took our dogs and had a nice big area outside for walking and views of the lake! The owners are the best and have put so much thought in every detail. Exceptional owners who will make sure you are satisfied with your stay. Can't wait for another trip. I highly recommend! Big thanks to David and Edna for being amazing hosts!
Great property location next to Waterfront boat ramp. Very clean and roomy house. We were able to bring my small dog which was a huge plus! Would stay here again for sure!
This was the nicest place to stay .. clean, had everything you needed , so cute!!
Will be staying again here , owner was very helpful, close to boat launch at waterfront where we have always launched our boat, this place was so clean had everything you needed, definitely awesome for your pets to as we got to bring our two little fur-babies with us ... by far best anniversary get away we have been on!! Can’t wait to come back ... we live 6 hours away but come here every year in June .... want to come sooner but with the kids next time.
Lovely property in a great area with close proximity to Waterfront boat launch. Nice, big house, with plenty of room and allowed us to bring our small dog. Loved the outside picnic table and patio area. Would love to stay here again!
Awesome view the property has all of the amenities that you need. It is dog friendly which is important if you want to bring your fury babies. We would definitely stay here again.
Property was wonderful, my mom and fur baby O'Ryan had a great time. It was clean and very spacious. Homeowners we fast to answer any and all questions we had. We had a great experience. David, Edna and Amber are great
The property is in a scenic area with location across from Lake Guntersville. Great secure carport available for guests. The beds were comfortable, bathroom provided a great shower, adequate room for dining and cooking too. Very responsive owners who give you as much privacy as you want. I would stay here again! Next time I'm bringing the boat!
Southern hospitality is alive and well at the Baker House cabin. Dave and Edna made sure that the house was spotless and that we had everything we needed. They checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything else. The location was perfect and we loved our stay. We will definitely be back!!
This property was stunning.... My husband and I with our lab dog drove from KY to see what Lakes Guntersville was all about. This house is at PRIME LOCATION! It is literally 2 seconds to the boat dock (and the dock isn't super packed). There is a gas station right down the road (and across from the boat dock) that also serves warm food. There is food 15-20 minutes away as well as a walmart for groceries. The house itself was beautiful, there is plenty of seating to hang out outside as well. Dave and Edna checked in just enough to not bother us but to make sure we were all set. They also sent us a list of important places (food, grocery, boat repair, hospital) close by with their addresses and phone numbers. We cannot wait to be back!

About the host
Hosted by David & Edna
D&E Landing Vacation Rentals, LLC is named after us, David and Edna. The name came to Edna literally as we were signing the documents to purchase the property.
Edna's a native Alabamian who grew up in Phenix City. David grew up outside of Boston but found his way to Alabama in the middle 80's. We fell in love with Northeast Alabama after spending 4 years outside of Gadsden before moving to Memphis, TN for 20 years.
Lake Guntersville called to us in the spring of 2013 and we decided it was time to go home permanently! We are, like many couples in Alabama, a house divided. Edna's the Alabama football fan and David's the Auburn fan. Iron bowl Saturdays are always interesting around our house!
David hunts and fishes the area and is always happy to help with any information you need. Edna's a shopper, and will guide you to every place within 60 miles to get a bargain on almost anything! Between us we've got you covered.
We both love to meet people, make new friends and serve our guests. We believe in delivering the maximum value for your dollar and will do whatever it takes to ensure you have a fantastic time at Lake Guntersville and in the Northeast Alabama area!
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you need anything at all - we're here to help!
Why they chose this property
Baker House is located mid-lake on Highway 79 making it an easy drive to most of the boat ramps on the lake. If you're not a fisherman, you'll only have a short drive to Guntersville, Scottsboro or Huntsville. There you'll find plenty of activities to choose from including: - Fantastic shopping in all these locations (just ask Edna) - Cathedral Caverns - Hiking at the State Park - Space and Rocket Center - Lake City Amusement Park (opening April 2016) - Many golfing opportunities including 2 Robert Trent Jones Trail courses
What makes this property unique
Our property sits on 2 beautiful acres with great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
There are 4 different driveways making it very easy to enter, exit and move around if you have a boat or trailer. Every cabin has covered parking for at least 2 boats/vehicles with power to charge you batteries and there's no need to unhook. We have plenty of additional parking with power available at every cabin as well.
You will not find cleaner lodging anywhere at the lake as Edna and David take care of everything at the property personally. We live in Guntersville and are always available should you need anything at all!
