Rural Lamorna, part of a stone barn with all home comforts and garden
About Simon Strutt
We bought Lamorna in 2016, and look forward to spending large parts of the year in this lovely spot. We live near Oxford, but have spent many family holidays in and around Cornwall. Walking the South West Coastal Path over the past few years, this stretch from Charlestown to St Mawes along the Roseland Coast stood out for its lovely beaches, spectacular cliffs and great villages. And the unspoilt rural lanes just inland make this the perfect location. We're planning to explore further over the next few years.

A lovely christmas stay
We had a lovely weeks stay in Lamorna cottage. On arrival accessing the cottage was very easy using a key safe, with the added unexpected finding of christmas decorations!
The cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside, multiple beaches and sunrises every morning. Its great for a dog with the outside space and the twin room was great for kids.
Everything you need is at the cottage from all kitchen untensils to an electric fire and log burner.
Its a lovely cottage in what feels like the middle of nowhere but you're not far from civilisation when you start driving.
We would highly recommend staying here if you want a chilled week away in the cornish countryside.
Lovely property well equip in easy reach of all sites
We had a lovely time, great location easy access to great beaches
Lovely cottage in a great location.
We had a lovely week staying at Lamorna. The cottage had everything we needed, was comfy and really welcoming. The wood burning stove was lovely on the wet chilly nights. There was a great supply of games and local information. The coffee, tea and biscuits was a lovely touch.
We would love to come back again.
Lovely cottage well located
Great communication with the owners Simon and Sally including very clear directions and advice to get there easily and access keys etc.
The property is lovely, nice spacious living area and adjoining kitchen which is so cosy with low level lighting in the evening, a proper home from home.
Very well equipped in both kitchen and household amenities and entertainment and most equipment appears quite new and of a good quality.
Smart TV and DVD player with good selection of DVD’s and plentiful books and games for the rainy days.
Decent size fridge/freezer, the latter part very welcome for keeping ice for the GnT’s on returning after a day out.
Nice quiet location, though the lanes are narrow so care needed when driving to the main roads.
The pub at nearby St Ewe a bit far for us to walk on the hilly narrow roads but only 5 mins drive away, and Mevagissey only 15 mins.
We were well pleased with the cottage and our stay.
Great cottage in an amazing location.
Perfectly located, quiet place. Everything you need is there. Can’t think of a single improvement required. Would highly recommended to anyone looking for a quiet home away from home.
Lamorna Cottage is in a peaceful rural location, a perfect place to relax and unwind. There are half a dozen beaches within 4 miles, and the Roseland Heritage Coast offers many miles of unspoilt scenery to explore, one of the loveliest stretches of the South West Coastal Path. The oldest vineyard in Cornwall is just a few hundred yards down the hill at Polmassick - great cream teas! We're close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays Castle and Gardens, Mevagissey, Charlestown and Veryan. A little further to St Mawes and Fowey. The Eden Project is only 10 miles away, and within just 15 miles the dramatic north Cornish coast - we love St Agnes and the brilliant Bedruthan Steps. Padstow/Rock is around 35 minutes drive. And not much further (in the other direction) to the beautiful Helford estuary, Tate St Ives, and - our favourite - Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsular.
Lamorna is a great base for exploring Cornwall.
