The area is well known for the pine forest which is within 10 minutes walking distance from the house; this is a vast forest where you can spend many hours walking or cycling. A perfect place for kids, dogs, and horses. A lake near the house, which is protected by the Ramsar Convention for Conservation, is a nature reserve where you can see all kinds of beautiful birds and wildlife.

Distances: There is a small mini-market 600m from the house and a large supermarket 15km easy drive in the village of Lappa. There is a choice of three tavernas within 500 metres. Miles of golden sandy beaches are only 800 metres level walk.



The main beach is so vast (14km long) that one can stay close to the hustle and bustle of the tourist area or relax completely on your own miles away from civilization. The whole area is crime free and the neighbors very friendly; this is a quiet and safe area for kids and family.

The Airport of Araxos is 4 km away, with charter flights directly from all major European Cities. The nearest city is Patras (50km - 45' drive) which is the third most important city in Greece. It is a commercial and university city, as well as a cultural center with a vibrant night life, hundreds of different styles of tavernas, bars, and night clubs. Its robust port connects Patras to the Ionian Islands and Italy by ferry.

Olympia, where the first Olympic Games took place in the 7th century BC, is 80 km away and about an hour's drive. It is one of the most beautiful and intriguing places of ancient Greece, well worth visiting.

Beautiful and impeccable cleanliness

The host was very thorough in showing us the property. The property was impeccably clean and with every amenity a house could need. Beautiful tile floors and such comfortable beds. Completely fenced in with a remote controlled gate! The property is also pretty secluded which is so good! I would be so happy to stay there again!

Urlaub zum abschalten ,herunterfahren, entspannen.

Fantastisches Haus , auf riesen großen gepflegten Grundstück. Hatten hier den perfekten Urlaub. Auch für unseren Vierbeiner war das 18 Tage Paradies pur, da das Grundstück komplett eingezäunt, uneinsichtig ist, und nur durch ein großes elektisches Tor betreten werden kann. Da etwas Abseits, ist das Haus zusätzlich durch eine Alarmanlage gesichert. Das Meer liegt praktisch vor der Haustür, mit wunderbarem weichen Sand. In dem Naturschutzgebiet lassen sich herrliche Waldwanderungen oder Spaziergänge machen. Wir kommen herzlich gerne wieder. Denise und Wolfgang Häfner mit J.Hendrix

Nice restful property

This was a very good property, one of the most comfortable we have stayed in. The standard was high, more like a permanent dwelling than a holiday rental. Plenty of furniture including outside the property; lots of things in the kitchen and good bathrooms etc. The property is very secure with an electronic gate and good windows and shutters, plus mesh doors for warm days but to keep the insects out. It’s nice and tucked away so very quiet and restful. There are some nearby tavernas and the Verde Al Mare hotel has a good poolside bar and restaurant (although closed from the first week of October). There are some local things to do, plus Olympia is an hour’s drive and the rack and pinion railway about 90 minutes away at Diakofto – both trips recommended. The owner took time to explain everything to us on arrival and we very much appreciated her returning something we left behind. The TV in the property has limited channels but it does have BBC World. If the WIFI doesn’t work for you pull it out at the plug and reconnect which seems to do the trick. We didn’t have GPS and the property was hard to locate from the instructions, so here’s a description to help future travellers to this property. From the main road from either Pyrgos or Patra, turn off to Lapas. If entering Lapas from the direction of Patra the best supermarket is on the right hand side just as you reach Lapas, opposite a petrol/gas station. Half way through the village there’s a turning on the right (from Patra direction) signposted to Kalogria with a second sign to the hotel Verde al Mare. Follow this road which will swing left past the village of Metoxi and eventually take you through a pine wood to a small bridge. Just after you cross the bridge there are a number of signs left to hotels etc. but do not follow these. Turn immediate right then immediate left up a small track (before a telegraph pole and small white dwelling). Follow this track around to the large white security gate to magnolia House. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Bonheur et tranquilite

Nous avons passe un sejour merveilleux chez Ioanna. Villa Manolia offre tous les conditions necessaires pour des vacances reussies. Les plages sont proches et fantastiques , de bons tavernas se trouvent pres de la maison. L'environemment est magique, une reservation naturelle ou on retrouve l'energie positive de la terre. Nous allons certainement revenir.

Villa Manolia House the nun=kalogria used to stay and gave the name to the area,built in a field of 6000 sq.m. with lemon,,olive and other trees.In a unique environment surrounded by the Strofilia forest well known for the lakes,the dunes and the pine trees,is a birds habitat yet a historical place.It is also protected by NATURA and RAMSAR projects.

Detached but also only 500 meters through the dunes to the 'blue flag' by EU sandy beach,offers a peaceful environment with all amenities (tavernas,beach parties,lakes in the forest,Araxos airport etc) in walking distance.

There are many historical places around reachable by car or bus.Dimaion castle is only 2 kilometers away,Killini and from there to Zakynthos and Kefalonia islands is 20 minutes away, and above all, Ancient Olympia is only 30 minutes driving.Delphi is reachable by car or bus as a day excursion.

Supermarkets,tavernas with local meat and fish,doctors and hospitals are in easily reachable distances from the villa to offer a relaxed and calm environment to the visitors.A/C,double glazed windows,,wi-fi,solar heating water, and bbq.Iis offered while cleaning,bedsheets,towls and beach towels are offered weekly to make a comfortable stay.
