Wonderful Evora Experience
Great property in a quiet, rural location yet within easy reach of Evora (5 km). Comfortable, rustic cottage and wonderful, helpful host. Great place to unwind and relax with access to lovely pool area and surrounded by farm animals. Check in process was easy and smooth.
Perfect Cottage in Evora
We loved staying at Marta’s cottage. It was clean and cozy, with everything we needed. When we checked in, we were met by Marta and an amazing bottle of wine. The drive to the city walls was 5 minutes and we stayed on a farm with animals and a pool we had to our selves. We had our children (7 and 18) and they loved being there. We would highly recommend the experience.
Evora Farm Cottage
Marta was quick to answer our questions before and after our stay and we communicated well as we set up our check-in time as we approached by private car. Her farm cottage is simple, clean and basically equipped, peacefully situated very close to Evora, and an excellent jumping off point to tour the area. Marta’s suggestions for things to do and places to eat were spot-on. She directed us to free parking just outside the town walls and Evora us easy and charming to walk around -a lovely contrast to Lisbon and Porto. The cottage is nestled into a rocky corner of a working cattle farm, which also has sheep, goats and an old donkey. A large private swimming pool a short walk up the hill provides welcome relief on hot days. We were two couples but multiple entries in the guest journal commented on what a great place it was for families with children. All round a very pleasant stay in the countryside just a short hop from Evora. We recommend it!
Cozy Farm Cottage
Idyllic country farm setting in cozy original farmhouse with modern amenities. Marta was a very helpful and responsive hostess and provided thorough orientation to Evora and the surrounding area. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the farm animals and exploring the numerous dirt roads through the farm on the provided bicycles. Also enjoyed outdoor dining under the cork tree with take out meal from nearby cafe. Private pool up the road by the host farmhouse was beautiful but cool and refreshing in May. Appreciated doing laundry after 3 weeks on the road. Stayed two nights, could have been more.
Oasis in Portugal
After a hectic bus tour we were happy to unpack, do laundry and relax. Marta was a perfect caretaker and made sure we had everything we needed. Hearing the birds and the animals was one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. Anyone looking for an authentic living arrangement will love it.
