About this property

This is our personal property and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We have made it 'Mountain Lodge Style' with a rustic warm feel. Includes stone fireplace, knotty pine paneling and doors, new floors, new bathroom fixtures and kitchen counter tops. Master has a King bed, 2nd bedroom has a Queen bed, Fully equipped kitchen, free 'WIFI', 32 inch flat screen (cable) TV in living room with Blu ray DVD player, electric fireplace, laundry room (coin operated) right across from our door, heated pool (seasonal), 2 hot tubs, sauna, game room, 2 gas grills and 2 charcoal grills and picnic areas available, plenty of green space around buildings, keyless entry, and free parking. We are 5 to 30 minutes from most attractions but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains.

Mountain retreat

Me and my family spent Christmas here. We used the sauna and jacuzzi . Enjoyed the mountain view and open presents by the fire place. The house was well kept. My family loved every moment.

Cozy Vacation Rental

Quite the Drive

The condo was as shown in the pictures with beautiful views. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and did a little cooking. The drive to the condo involved multiple hatrpin turns on ridiculously steep roads. My husband handled it like a pro, but the rest of us were always a bit tense and would never have made it to this mountain top address. Great if you are ready for that type of drive.

What a veiw

This place was perfect for my husband, my daughter and I. The views were spectacular at the condo as well as the drive up the mountain. We saw 5 bears which was really cool. We would stay again.

This condo was just as lovely and cozy as pictured. I would stay again with my family. The hosts were helpful and welcoming, and the property was well cared for. All of us agreed the beds were comfortable and parking plentiful.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

This condo used to belong to my grandfather and holds all of my favorite family vacation memories. Getting to come back with my little girl and seeing her running around where I used to was so heartwarming. The Oliver’s were awesome hosts! It’s tucked away perfectly on the mountain to feel like you’re not staying amongst all of the busy traffic but still close enough to all of the fun! We will definitely be back!

Great Experience!

This condo is true to its description. Tucked away at the literal top of a mountain, the condo was everything we needed for our weekend getaway. Everything was very clean, the property manager responded quickly to all requests, and everyone staying around us was very respectful. I highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful condo! The views on the drive up were incredible. We will definitely consider renting from the Olivers in the future. My husband would like to join us next time. I think he was jealous because he missed out. LOL! We did notice a leak in the ceiling in the bathroom to the left. It might be a stain from a previous leak, but we thought you should know. Thank you for providing me, my son, and our friend a pleasant experience.

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

The owners have done a wonderful job creating a rustic cabin setting within this cozy condo perched high on the mountainside close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Gatlinburg. We spent our family weekend enjoying several hikes during what is considered to be one of the busiest times of the year at GSMNP, so it was particularly refreshing to drive back up to the condo after a long day to relax and rejuvenate in a setting that provided a sense of seclusion and quiet. It was the perfect accommodation for our family of four. We took advantage of both the grill and the hot tubs located on the premises. We did not see any bears this time as other guests have, but we did see a mother and her cubs in the park. All the amenities were as advertised (we couldn't quite figure out how to get local channels but there were plenty of options available for guests needing to watch TV which was certainly not a priority for us). We particularly enjoyed family meals around the small dining room table and the spacious kitchen counter that gave everyone ample room to prepare lunches and daypacks for each day in the park. We felt welcomed from the first communication with Mark and Joni to the time we opened the door upon arrival. Thank you for sharing your Smoky Mountains treasure with us! We would definitely consider another visit!

Disappointed

This "cabin" was a surprise for my wife's birthday. By viewing the pictures, it appears to be a quaint cabin. When she got there, it was a condo. She was on the 2nd floor, and there was a floor above her. For the three nights she stayed there, she heard people taking showers above her between the hours of 6 and 7 am. On one days there was a child that kept running back and forth around 6 to 7:30am. I would have never picked this place had I know it was a condo and there would be a lot of noise. She contacted the hosts, but they didn't answer her until Monday as they were out of town with no cell service, yet their instructions say, "contact us anytime". She also reached out to them Sunday and informed them she would not be staying there on Monday night as her friend from CA had never been to her new home in TN. She had requested they possibly refund her last night stay and they refused. She was very upset about the entire situation and the hosts told her maybe she should direct her aggravation towards her husband...that pretty much ruined it. Requesting just one night refund as she did not stay and she left before 11am on Monday. Also requesting the hosts update their verbiage to state this is a condo, not a cabin. It is located on the 2nd floor of a 3 story building. I really feel given the circumstances, we should be entitled to a one day refund. I would ask for everything, but I do understand, we used the property. Thank you for your time in this matter.

We are Mark and Joni Oliver and we live in Knoxville about an hour and 15 min. from Gatlinburg. We both love the mountains and spend weekends there as often as we can.

Why they chose this property

We chose High Chalet for it's magnificent views year round. From our balcony and windows, the mountain views including Mt. LeConte, one of the highest points in the Smoky's, are outstanding. In the winter Ober Gatlinburg skiing can be viewed night or day. Across the parking lot Sevierville is below you and the view on a clear day is for miles. Even the fireworks at Dollywood when they close each evening can be seen. Our local wildlife, bears, deer, turkeys, etc. stroll through the parking lots and green areas frequently.

Everyone here, owners and visitors are always so friendly!

What makes this property unique

High Chalet Condos, at the end of Ski View Drive is one of the highest points you can stay without camping. It is approximately 3300 feet above sea level. The drive from the condo to Gatlinburg is always scenic anytime of year. We feel almost anyone can find something to do within 30 minutes of the condo be it hiking, skiing, sightseeing, golf, rafting, shopping, or just relaxing at the pool.
