We just returned from a two-week holiday is this lovely house. It has a lot of character, from the living and dining rooms, through to the bedrooms. Plenty of bathrooms that are very functional. I am tall (202 cm) but still could get around the house very well. Beds are a bit short (200 cm), but that is not unusual. The kitching is the less attractive part of the house. Although spacious and well-equipped, the lay out is not great and the stove needs replacing (or at least to be levelled). We were welcomed and accommodated very well by the owner Elisabeth. She owns the castle too, and we had a very interesting tour there. We were also allowed into the castle gardens and the tennis court. Three of our party of six spent some great times there painting and drawing. And the the environment in general. The village is lovely! The church is literally next door and chimes twice every hour the full our, and once the half hours. In addition, at 07:00, 12:00, 19:00 hours it chimes for about two minutes a tune that initially will wake you up or stop you doing whatever you are doing. Oddly enough, you get use to this quickly and now, of course, I miss it .... It is a very quiet area, but the nature is beautiful, Rolling hills, extended forests, and lots of grain fields. Great for moderate to longer walks, which we made. Personally, I was surprised by how lovely this area is. It is definitively under appreciated. If you want peace and quiet (and be relatively safe for covid-19 ;)), this is the place to go. Food supply may require some adjustment to what you are used to. There is a bakery in Leuglay that we used (very good!) and there is a small supermarket too. But for a better assortement Chatillon sure Seine is a better choice. That is however a 30 km drive, so plan to buy for a couple of days. There are two fridges and a freezer so that should no problem.
All in all, I have the feeling that we will go back sometime soon ...
