About this property
Big Sky Lodge - Hosted by The Chalets
The images tell the story: Breathtaking hill-top setting, for your log home retreat. Wind your way up the drive, past the private stocked fishing pond, an old oak ravine, and a few charming red-roofed chalets, to your home away from home. LIVING AREAS Enter the open-concept living space. Two seating areas – one centered on the wide, stone-hearth seasonal gas-burning fireplace and the other on the satellite tv. Four-top game table, a pair of locally-made hickory rockers, and the window-wrapped dining area where your group will gather at the harvest table. The bunk room has a second tv, arcade console and big bean bags, so it often doubles as a secondary gathering space for the kids. The kitchen has two large refrigerators, and is equipped with all of the essentials and many extras. Recently added - a coffee wine bar, to divert traffic from the kitchen. And big wire bins - to store your group's snacks and supplies within view. Charcoal and gas grills. The hot tub is tucked away behind the chalet – away from the crowd but still with great views. The other side of the house, a broad front porch faces your private pool and the hills and dales beyond. SITE Closest park to the Chalets Big Sky Ranch location is Lake Logan State Park, though there is a city park canoe launch even closer. Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave and Cedar Falls are all close. Also, the Hocking Hills Golf Club. The Chalets front desk is 8 miles away. For your convenience, online check-in is available - so you will not need to stop by the office before heading to Big Sky Lodge. SIMILAR The Chalets offers three other lodges with private pools: Fallswood Lodge - Hocking Hills (sleeps 22), Fireside Lodge - Hocking HIlls (sleeps 18), Grande Butte Lodge - Hocking Hills (sleeps 22). We thought the property was very functional and comfortable for our group. We spent quite a bit of time around the large table playing cards and of course eating. The fireplace was an added focal point.
The shower was a handicap shower which we should of been told that ,plus no tv in bed rooms these 2 things made it tough but over all it was a nice place but there should not be a handicap shower for main shower

Hadn't really received the real address till we were 4 hours from home. Got there and a sewer truck was in the driveway!
When he left an hour later we went to jump in the hot tub and it was cold?
They did come right away to fix it. They comped us free fire wood. All the rest was great.
Place was perfect for our group of 13. All as advertised. Easy trips to Athens and Hocking Hills. Clean and in good condition. Kids loved the hot tub. Caught a few fish at the pond down the road. Enjoyed by all.
This is a beautiful property with an incredible view of the hills of SE Ohio. Perfect for families and medium sized groups.
When we arrived the pool was not open yet which is typical for mid May in Ohio but my issue was it was completely green and uncovered. I’m sure there was a reason it was left uncovered but having a cover would have been just a small note. The communication from property management was scarce and for the amount this rental was I would have expected a bit more on the communication side. Specifically I booked the property 2/3 months in advance and had not heard a word until the morning of the rental and that was after I had reached out to ask. Then I was told I would receive a text and email with check in instructions which I only received an email.
Again both small notes but other than that the cleanliness was perfect, the staff was very friendly, close to all of the hiking spots and grocery stores. Will stay again!
