We loved the Alpine. Very happy with most aspects. Only real complaints is that there are no curtains or blinds in the bedrooms. Mornings were very bright. Also both bedrooms and bathrooms were upstairs. We would hae preferred at least a bathroom downstairs and a bedroom downstairs would have been easier, but that was not a fault of the property, just our preference. Also the Vrbo site listed the property as 106 per night. After taxes fees and all else the cost was more like 175 per night which is deceiving. All in all very nice quiet clean place. We loved the hot tub and firepit. Very nice people and helpful. rs, would have prein the
My husband and our 2 dogs had a great weekend exploring Hocking Hills. We were all very comfortable in the cabin - it was clean, close to the sites, cozy, had everything we were looking for!
Cabin was very relaxing, comfortable and was a great stay for our weekend! Bedrooms were good size and kitchen was supplied adequately. There is washer/dryer if needed. Would definitely stay here again!
Nice quiet location, very clean, full kitchen. Trees all around, I enjoyed birdwatching from the porch. Didn’t make a fire but really enjoyed the hot tub. Would return here!
We really enjoyed the cabin. The layout is more like a home than the open floor cabins we usually stay in. The wood burning fireplace was a plus and we had a fire every night. They could use some hooks near the doors for things like hats, and jackets. While it’s not as secluded as we’d like, it was close to Logan which was nice for grabbing things at Kroger. We would definitely stay here again.
This was a great place for what we needed. It was close (as close as anything is in Hocking Hills) to everything we wanted to do--hike, swim, zipline, horseback riding. The air conditioning was much appreciated on a few very hot days, as was access to the Chalet pool (about 7 miles drive from cabin). If there was one thing that would be welcome it would be a few more kitchen and bathroom supplies--like tissue, a role of paper towels, maybe some salt and paper. There is really nothing beyond towels and toilet paper. But, overall, great for what we needed. Would stay again.
The garbage can stunk hard to sit outside because the garbage can was bad underneath the beds were really dirty took forever to come fix the dryer the cabin was nice
My family enjoyed their stay at the Alpine. We traveled with our son (12) and two English Mastiffs. The cabin had plenty of room for all of us.
We loved the hot tub and used it often. We didn't expect much with the beds, but they were surprisingly ok. In the morning whatever achiness we had was soaked away in the hot tub. Location was great for the hiking that we wanted to do at the parks.
Only one small caveat, we really needed an outside hose. With two dogs hiking at the trails they were dirty and we always wash them before they come inside. We went to the main office to ask and they said that wasn't an option. We would have paid extra if it were.
Either way, we highly recommend this stay and look forward to coming back.
We came to experience Hocking Hills in the winter. No disappointments at all! The hiking was wonderful! Frozen waterfalls and snow covered landscapes. Our 2 small doxies enjoyed their hikes too!
The cabin is nicely furnished: people and dog friendly. The property management company is excellent with communication telling you exactly what to expect, what to bring and how to enjoy your stay. The hot tub was a lovely feature, and although has 4 seats is best for 2 to enjoy.
The beds are not the most comfortable, but just what to expect for a rental home. The living room has great seating. We downloaded netflex movies to our laptop and connected to their tv w our hdmi cable (we brought). The kitchen has everything you need to make meals, coffee, etc.
I would rent again.
Loved:
Comfortable bed; good Wifi; washer and dryer; hot tub (didn't get a chance to use it); cabin was spotlessly clean; makeup washcloths made available; sheets and blankets were just the right softness.
Major complaints:
The upstairs bedrooms and not all of downstairs windows have curtains or shades.
Minor complaints:
Only four hangars in each of the upstairs closets; one burned-out living room light; no hand soap at the kitchen sink; one television remote had no batteries; couldn't stream Netflix from devices; no Kleenex; no drinking cups upstairs; no soap dish in one of the bathrooms; didn't like being asked for a tip since the service fees were so expensive; could see our neighbor's cabin; air conditioning doesn't work very well upstairs and the ceiling fans are not helpful (there's a sign warning you not to set the air conditioning below 72 degrees); no bathroom on the first floor; floors are super squeaky; and no coasters for the wooden tables.
Miscellaneous:
There are two benches around the fire.
An extra blanket or afghan in the living room would have been a nice touch.
People weren't kidding about the steep steps! If you have ankle or knee problems, you'll feel it (and it's not limited to older adults). We had to carry our small 16# dog because she was afraid to go up and down the steps.
Larger families should consider bringing extra paper plates and utensils because there aren't a lot of dishes.
