Cozy Cottage on Spanish ranch

The cottage is located on the grounds of a beautiful stylish cortijo (Spanish farmhouse) and offers complete privacy. The beautiful cottage was built by the owners in a characteristic and attractive style. A place where you are surrounded by the stunning beauty of nature, the breathtaking views and where you can touch the rural life. At the cortijo are horses, dogs, a cat and chickens scurrying around that surprise you with fresh eggs in the morning.

You can completely relax here. You can sit outside having lunch under the large covered porch or enjoy your drinks in the Jacuzzi size pool under the stars. Would you like to explore the area and go out for a day, you can combine your stay at the cottage with day trips to the cities of Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Ronda and Antequera. Also Málaga and the beaches are just a 30 minutes drive from the cottage. The cottage is accessible by a farm road about 500 meters away from the main road. In the nearest village Villanueva de la Concepción (2 km from the cottage) there is a supermarket, bakery, butcher, bank, medical center and a few restaurants and bars.

The region offers not only beautiful cities and beaches but you can also enjoy breathtaking scenery and various activities. There are opportunities for mountain biking, cycling, golf, horse riding, paragliding, rock climbing and hiking. How about walking one of the most famous trails through the El Chorro gorge called the Caminito del Rey (the King’s path), or visit the fascinating nature reserve El Torcal with its extraordinary rock formations being one of the most impressive landscapes of Spain, or maybe you want to play golf on one of the many golf courses that this region has.

This beautiful detached cottage offers you the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside of Andalusia.

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was lovely and provided so many thoughtful amenities. We spent as much time as we could on the covered porch looking over the mountains and valley. The views were incredible. The hosts were so friendly, thoughtful, and responsive to all of our questions. We would highly recommend and would love to return!

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area

We were delighted with the picturesque cottage and the breathtaking views it offered. Our stay was filled with enjoyable moments as we explored the surrounding area, all the while feeling welcomed and comfortable thanks to the friendly hosts. The local villagers added to the charm of our experience with their polite and friendly nature, making us feel right at home. We left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return for another memorable stay.

This property is located in rural spain and rustic. Because of its location the views are wonderful, can be breezy and because of this it can be dusty. Because we like to cook for ourselves as well as eating out we would have liked an oven but it did not prevent us managing with the hob, microwave and barbecue. The pool is waist height so really only a plunge pool but ideal on a hot day. We loved the 2 weeks we spent with the dogs, cats, horses and a lovely little pony. Villanueva de la Concepción is close by and has a Dia supermarket which is small but has essentials. Antequera is about half an hour by car and is a fabulous older town with lots of places to eat and bigger supermarkets. The Alcazaba is worth a visit, very reasonable with free commentary through your phone.

Beautiful spot in Andalusian countryside. The hosts have set up many areas to sit outside and enjoy the view, the weather and just relax. The house is homey and has a lived in feel. Has everything you need in the kitchen to cook at home comfortably. Overall would recommend

The most relaxing break

I don't want to praise this Cortijo too highly ( or Peter and Cat who own it) in case we book it again next year. Simply the most relaxing holiday we have ever taken- superb location, excellent property and the friendliest hosts. Loved it! Thanks

Didn’t want to leave

This place was everything we were hoping for and much, much more. Stunning location and views. The cosy yet spacious home has every amenity and added extra you need along with perfect privacy and seclusion. Simply wonderful hosts and their horses, cats and especially the dogs were just brilliant. We will most certainly be returning, just sorry it wasn’t a permanent stay. Thank you.

LITTLE PIECE OF PARADISE

We had a fantastic two weeks here in August 2024. The cottage was perfect for us. It had everything we needed. The location is amazing both the views and as a base for exploring the area. We visited Ronda, Nerja and Cordoba. The hosts were great and enabled a smooth but eaceful break. They were available when we needed them. We loved the added bonus of the dogs on the ranch. It meant we didnt miss ours too much! This cottage is peefect if you want a beautoful, quiet break away from the tourist trail. You will definitely need a car if you stay here.

A little slice of Tranquility

This wonderful cottage/guest house was just what was needed for me and my husband. Laid back, peaceful, stunning views. The images rarely depict the actual place, but, in my opinion, they didn't do it justice. Wonderful hosts in Cat & Peter - on hand if needed, but allowed you privacy. I am already missing the place, the horses, the dogs, the cats - even the wasps (not aggressive like in the UK), like it was home from home, and the small pool was needed in the hot July heat and very refreshing. You do need a car to get here and for getting out and about - although we walked into the village a couple of times (40 mins, but not for the faint hearted). Well placed for travelling out - but if you drive to Antequera (30 mins approx) they have a train station where you can get to Seville / Malaga / Granada (not Sundays though). Would I go again? In a heartbeat, yes! Highly recommended for either just recharging those batteries and soaking away the stress of life on the hamster wheel - or using as a base for getting around in Andalucia. Enough of my rambling - see for yourself :)

All we hoped for and more

Some places flatter themselves with their promo pics - not this one - the real thing was even better!! Beautiful rural location with fantastic views and so many areas to soak up the sun (or find some shade!). Great communication prior to arrival, a lovely welcome treat and good advice for making the most of the area from Cat and Peter. We used the local shops for supplies (and restaurants sparingly) because we just loved getting back to ranch and taking in the views, watching the horses in the paddock, cooling down in the pool, eating out on the veranda and having the company of the dogs every evening - cosy is is the perfect description. Perfectly located to indulge in our love of walking with El Torcal overlooking the valley, Ronda and El Churro close by and many more areas we didn't get to explore. Even our planned day trip to Granada got shelved because it was so relaxing so it gives another good reason to return to this little bit of paradise!! (vacancies permitting - fingers crossed). Thank you Cat and Peter for sharing your Cortijo and making our Golden Wedding Anniversary so special.

Sehr schönes freistehendes Haus auf einem Bauernhof

Die Lage ist sehr schön mitten in der andalusischen Natur mit genialem Blick auf Villanueva de la Concepcion und El Tocar. Das Haus hat Charme und wurde liebevoll eingerichtet. Von hier aus lassen sich Wanderungen (z. B. Caminito del Rey), Rennradtouren, Strandtage und Städtebesichtigungen (z. B. Granada, Córdoba, Ronda, ganz in der Nähe Antequera mit prähistorischen Gräbern) unternehmen. Die Besitzer leben auf dem Anwesen und bewirtschaften dieses. Sie sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und auch zurückhaltend und diskret. Der Pool sollte allerdings besser gepflegt sein und das Haus sollte etwas sauberer sein, dann wäre es perfekt für einen tollen Urlaub in der Natur Andalusiens.

Wunderschönes Ferienhaus

Wunderschönes, gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus mit Pool. Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend, haben einen aber auch in Ruhe gelassen. Die Ferienwohnung war blitzsauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist sehr zentral und man findet schnell eine Autobahn in alle Richtungen. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Un pequeño paraíso

Hemos pasado unos días estupendos en la casa de Catti y Peter, ubicada en un entorno privilegiado. La casa forma parte de una finca a la que se accede por un camino rural desde la carretera y a través del cortijo de los dueños, aunque una vez allí, la privacidad es total. Las amplias vistas de los prados y las montañas, Villanueva y El Torcal a lo lejos son espectaculares. Desde el amplísimo porche también se puede disfrutar de los bonitos caballos de Catti y Peter, las gallinas sueltas a veces, numerosos pájaros, alguna rapaz, incluso buitres en El Torcal con prismáticos. Los amaneceres, las puestas de sol y los cielos nocturnos son una maravilla. La vivienda es perfecta para una pareja. Es muy acogedora, con salidas a la terraza desde la cocina-salón y desde el amplio dormitorio. El baño tiene una ducha grande y cómoda y una lavadora. La cocina está bien equipada y la zona de salón cuenta con un sofá y un sillón, TV, juegos, revistas, etc. El wifi funciona muy bien. Un plus es la pequeña “piscina” y tumbonas en un lado de la casa para refrescarse y tomar el sol, leer... Catti y Peter son personas muy hospitalarias, simpáticas y solícitas, que con total disponibilidad y naturalidad cuidaran de vuestro bienestar dentro de la más absoluta privacidad. Les damos las gracias por unas vacaciones relajantes e inolvidables.

faut aimer la nature . le denommé jacuzzi n'en est pas un. juste un bassin avec le nettoyage de l'eau periodiquement comme tout les bassins et cela fait des remous cest tout. et de toute facon quasi impossible de renter dedans quepes continuellement présentes pour boire. lezard dans logement impossible a deloger .pas genat mais presents.

Back to Nature!!

Stunning location with beautiful views, peaceful and relaxing. Great mountain roads, think North Wales! The host could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed, which we did. We used this as a base to visit Caminito Del Rey, Ronda, Seville and Antequera.

Amazing escape from the busy city life.

This property is brilliant, had such a great time with such peaceful environment and tranquil and serene ambiance. This is a legit country side retreat, and you will never feel like getting out of it. We enjoyed relaxing, cooking, pool, interacting with cats and dogs, watching horses grazing in the fields and not to mention, surrounded by beautiful scenery and in the night time, the sounds of the nights and dogs barking in the distance with sky full of shinning stars takes this holiday to another level. The hosts of the property, Peter and Cat are such a lovely couple and very friendly people and always willing to help with any queries. We also spend one lovely evening with them over a bottle of wine and it was brilliant evening. They also have such lovely dogs especially Senna, such gentle girl, loved her to bits and I actually kinda miss that beauty. Highly recommend this holiday and if anyone want to have a retreat, you can't ask for better. we ll definitely be coming again in future. Riz.

Comfortabel en gezellig huis met geweldig uitzicht.

Wat een gezellig en sfeervol huis. En dan het uitzicht! Echt genieten op de mooie veranda. Catelijne is erg behulpzaam en gunt haar gasten alle privacy.
