Hello! We are Costas and Athina, a couple who enjoys hosting people tranquil home. We love sharing info and making suggestions about Apokorona, food, wine, beaches and culture. This house used to be a stable belonging to Costas family, and with much love and care we began transforming it in 1999. There are big stone yards and field with olive trees, vineyard and rock garden. The house is close to several beaches , villages and other beautiful areas so there are many alternative fun aways.You love it.

Wenn man eine ruhige Oase sucht...

Costas und Athina haben in Plaka ein kleines Paradies geschaffen, das einerseits ganz ruhig liegt und trotzdem mitten im Dorf. Wir würden jederzeit dieses geschmackvoll eingerichtete Haus mit dem Traumgarten weiterempfehlen!

a wonderful place to stay

Das liebevoll und stilvoll eingerichtete Haus mit dem Garten ist eine Oase. Ob man auf der oberen Terrasse/ großer Balkon mit Blick aufs Meer oder im Garten mit den Oliven-, Johannisbrotbäumen usw. verweilt, man fühlt sich überall wohl. Es ist sauber, und die Küche bietet alles, was man benötigt. Man wird herzlich empfangen und man bekommt nützliche Informationen, wenn man sie möchte.

Perfekte Auszeit auf Kreta

Das atmosphärische Haus mit riesigem Garten liegt direkt am Dorfplatz. Hier kann man fast direkt vor der Haustür seine Einkäufe erledigen, aus drei sehr guten Tavernen wählen (Elpis war unser Favorit) - und wenn man das Haustor hinter sich schließt, landet man in einer Oase der Ruhe inkl. Meerblick vom Balkon. Mietwagen ist hilfreich, hat man den, erreicht man bequem den Strand von Kalyves Chania, Apteria und andere Sehenswürdigkeiten, wir haben aber tagelang einfach das herrliche Wetter, das tolle Essen und die wunderbar authentische Freundlichkeit der Kreter genossen. Danke an Costas für diese echte Urlaubsidylle auf einer Insel, die wir uns so schön gar nicht vorgestellt haben.

Très jolie maison

On se sent comme chez soi, un jardin fabuleux, au calme (hormis quelques aboiement d'un chien la nuit) il y a vraiment tout le nécessaire. Un seul bémol, la literie est très fatiguée. Nous y avons passé un très bon moment, déjeuner dans le jardin et apéro en terrasse vue mer.

Schönes Steinhaus mit tollem Garten. Die Mückennetze an Fenster und Türen könnten verbessert werden dies ist aber der einzige Kritikpunkt.

Wunderbare Lage, drei Tavernen und zwei Supermärkte in unmittelbarer Nähe. Der Garten ist sehr schön und der Ausblick von der Dachterrasse ist wunderschön.

Fast alles gut

Betten recht gewöhnungsbedürftig (schmal, keine guten Matratzen). Für Personen mit einer Bewegungseinschränkung nicht unbedingt geeignet (viele Stufen, steile Treppe zum Schlafzimmer). Ansonsten wirklich alles gut!

Ein niedliches Häuschen, welches liebevoll und individuell eingerichtet ist. Ruhig gelegen in der Ortsmitte mit nur wenigen Schritten in den Supermarkt oder in eine der netten Tavernen. Ankommen und sofort wohlfühlen.

Ein kleines Paradies!

Wunderschösehr sauberes, idyllisches Häuschen mit großem, uneinsehbarem Garten. Schöne Terrassen, icl. Dachterrasse mit Meerblick. Authentischer Dorfplatz mit schönen Tavernen und guten Einkaufsmoeglichkeiten. Insgesamt eine tolle Unterkunft an einem tollen Ort mit einem top Vermieter, die wir uneingeschraenkt weiterempfehlen können.Wir haben unseren Urlaub dort sehr genossen!

Plaka is a great location whether you want a base to explore Crete or you just want to walk to the beautiful beach every day. The cottage is very clean and it's just big enough for two adults.

Wunderschöner und idyllischer Urlaub

Die Gastgeber sind sehr bemüht und empfangen herzlich. An der Ausstattung gibt es überhaupt nichts auszusetzen. Die Unterkunft ist absolut sauber. Ein wunderschöner und ruhiger Strand (Koutalas Beach) ist relativ nah. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es viele gute Restaurants. Danke und gerne wieder!

Einladung zum Seele-Baumeln

Ein wunderschönes traditionelles Haus mit 4 Terassen und riesigem Garten voller Bäume, Pflanzen und Rebstöcken. Ruhig und zentral zugleich gelegen. Die völlige Ungestörtheit wird einzig von der Unmenge Zikaden geschmälert, die von Früh bis Spät lärmen. Das Haus bietet alles, was man braucht, ist wohnlich und hat sogar einen Kamin.

Gerne Wieder!!!

Das Haus liegt am Ende des kleinen Dorfplatzes direkt neben der Kirche. Die Lage ist ruhig, bis auf ein paar Einlagen der heimischen Fauna. :) Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet, die nötigsten Dinge für Selbsversorger sind vorhanden. 3 Tavernen, 1 Italiener und 2 Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in Sichtweite. Wunderbar sind die Terrassen und der großzügig angelegte Garten!!! Zur Entspannung stehen auch eine grosse Musiksammlung und Bücher bereit. Das Haus können wir mit ruhigem Gewissen weiterempfehlen!!!

Beautiful place with very hospitable landlords

We had an amazing week! The house is even more beautiful than in the pictures. Everything you need is around the corner and the beach just a 5-minute drive away. Even though we had a big delay in our arrival our hosts were very welcoming.

A recommander

La maison est très bien située dans le centre du village, près des commerces et restaurants. Elle est au calme, sans vis à vis avec de grandes terrasses (vue sur le mer de la terrasse du 1er). la climatisation dans la chambre est appréciable. Le jardin est magnifique avec citronniers, vignes, grenadiers, ... La côte et les 1ères plages sont à 2 kms. Idéal pour visiter autour Rethymnon, Hania, la presqu'ile d'Akrotiri, les gorges, ... Vraiment un endroit où nous retournerons avec plaisir !!

Even nicer...

The accommodation is made with lovely details. Further it is much larger than shown on the pictures with enough places for my daily Yoga :-)We stayed there at the end of July- please get preparef for moscitos. The nice ladies at the shop at the corner will advise you. What we experienced unfortunaly too late- our mistake- how nice you can sleep with climate control. The one in the house really runs very silent. Check in went very easy, communication was excellent. Altough it is not the quitest place to stay- the Taverns ( we were there some times, really good) are only 2 minutes away- it would be our first choice if we would stay in this part of Crete again.

Fantastisches Haus!

Zentral und trotzdem ruhig, Riesiger, wundervoller Garten, großartige Terasse. Supermarkt und Restaurants 10 m entfernt und trotzdem fühlt man sich, als wäre man allein auf der Welt! Wir kommen wieder!

Schönes Bauernhaus im Ortszentrum

Wir haben uns im Ferienhaus sehr wohl gefühlt. Sehr schön eingerichtetes Haus mit Garten, von der Dachterrasse schöner Blick zum Meer. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich.

Empfehlenswertes individuelles Haus

Die zentrale, aber ruhige Lage von Haus und Garten nur für uns hat unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Wir können dieses Haus allen Ruhesuchenden nur empfehlen. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und in Ihrer Taverne in etwa 500 m Entfernung immer gut zu erreichen! Danke für den schönen Urlaub 2018!

The Best place for great holiday around Western Crete

I chose Plakora With my 2 children (11 and 13) as a peacefull and beautiful place to stay for our adventure holidays. We usually do all sorts of wild things and I never choose hotel, resort nor any noisy place... I wanted to feel and meet local people and have my own place after all day of adventures. We were welcomed by the owners in a very warm way! When we arrived Athena was waiting for us with fresh grapes, tomatoes, rusks, avocados and home made oilive oil ! Delicious. All facilities were great! Better than home. Warm water, washing machine, pans, coffee maker , stereo music!! There were never any problems. The house is big and beautiful. Every night we were watching the stars from our balcony lying on the sun beds! There were falling stars every night. We were coming home from our adventures every evening to a beautiful peaceful home. We did not need a swimming pool because we were swimming all day in crystal clear Sea!! We were lighting candles, listening to music and enjoyed Plakora. I was doing yoga every morning by the sunrise and I also organised private yoga lessons thanks to Athena. We were treated like family! I rent a car and decided to explore Western Crete. I didn’t know what to expect. Plakora had it all ! Car is essentiall - gives you freedom. The roads are fine and ok to drive - well marked. The local shop is 30 seconds away - at the corner 😊 - and if you’re lazy with cooking - the Takis Taverna is just next to it with amazing food - actually one of the best in Crete !! For a good price. We made friends with everyone. People are friendly and caring. I got flat tyre and got help within minutes! Beaches : You can actually walk down 10 min to Almirida to jump on waves and it’s a very nice beach and safe for the kids too. Just next to it there’s Kalyves. Great beach again! There’s a secret cave nearby Plaka if you can find it - it has its magic! We were more explorers and we went in different place every day as it was close from Plaka to go to places like Gorgiopolis to see the river turtles, Preveli Beach, Rethymno, Chania or Fallasarna, the Lake (only 30min!) as well as Elafonissi. You would spend between 15 min- 1.30 min max in the car to go to different places. We also did scuba diving nearby Plakias. I recommend Kalypso diving centre - they are the best. Overall - thank you Plakora !! It was the best holiday we could dream off. We love you 💖💖

On se sent vraiment comme chez soi ! Maison très agréable , meublée avec goût .Terrasse et grand jardin. Située dans un charmant village où l'on trouve tout ! Point de départ pour visiter l'ouest de la Crète , à 20 km de Chania. Les propriétaires sont charmants. Très bonne adresse
