Magical farm stay experience
What a wonderful comfortable home. It was a fantastic Sicilian homestay experience. The living areas were ideal. We were 2 couples due to the design of the beautiful home we were able to spend time privately. The location is a wonderful stepping stone for exploring the adjoining areas. Our host Emannual was fantastic and was always available.
This country home is beautifully renovated. It is surrounded with patios and terraces with spectacular views. It’s totally private but you feel very protected with the large gates
Emmanuel was a wonderful host and through a little crisis was really there for us. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Beautiful villa with fantastic views
Villa was beautiful iand in a good position for visiting the sites in this part of Sicilly, and the host was friendly, helpful and accessible.
The cleaning fees and Home and Away fees together made the total cost 28% more than the advertised nightly rate which made the whole deal quite expensive.
We have used Owners Direct for many years and never had to pay a service fee and found it much easier then to deal with the owners directly. Our host was unaware of this extra fee that clients paid being added to advertised cost. We found this fee particularly galling as up until 12 hours before our departure we had no address for the villa and only found it out by chasing Home and Away who at one point told us they could do nothing about it until we arrived at the villa at 4pm !
Fantastic villa, beautiful scenery, brilliant location. A great find!
Beautiful converted stone mill, perfect setting, great facilities, close enough to Ribera and Seccagrande for restaurants and great location for seeing the sights. Beautiful beaches within 10-15 mins drive. And peace and tranquility at the house, great outdoor spaces for eating and drinking, watching the world go by. Had a fantastic time and definitely recommend this place. Really helpful owners on hand nearby for tips for eating out, places to visit. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer place, just perfect! So nice to come back to after a day sight seeing or on the beach, two weeks of rest and relaxation. Amazing place
Perfect holiday home
The house is beautiful and so well equipped and spacious.
We loved the views from the different terraces and the orange trees and olive trees.
Everything went really smoothly and all communications were very clear and prompt.
We loved the area, plenty to see with beautiful scenery.
Ribera, known as “City of orange” for its international oranges production all over Europe, is a very eventful town. The pleasant summer nights are livened up by culinary feasts, music entertainments, cultural festivals and a lot of other events.
Moreover, the town has recently got the acknowledgement of “City slow”, thanks to its care in improving citizens’ and guests’ wellness.
SURROUNDING NATURAL RESERVES
“Foce del Fiume Platani”: a protected area between Borgo Bonsignore and Capo Bianco, whose calcareous cliffs rise up marking the landscape incomparably. This area is characterized by sandy dunes, mouth zones, hill landscapes and Mediterranean wood that blend harmoniously each other.
“Torre Salsa”: a natural masterpiece protected by WWF, located between Siculiana Marina and Eraclea Minoa. Its peculiarity are the chalk and clay cliffs and the very bright sea, whose bottom is marked by a rich blooming flora and fauna. The six kilometers of wild nature encompass jagged shores, golden and secluded beaches, sandy dunes and uncontaminated paths which will fascinate sea and nature lovers.
SCALA DEI TURCHI
It is a real singular white cliff made by limestone and clay which rises along the coast of Realmonte and overlooks a crystalline sea. Its name comes from the Turkish invasions, since the legend says that Saracens got there from the sea and climbed the cliff to reach the near villages and attacked them. It has became a tourist attraction for its particular color and shape; wind and rain have modeled it throughout the time, creating a huge natural staircase whose lines are rounded and irregular. Its white rocks look brighter thanks to the sun light and the water is incredibly clear.. it’s a paradise!
THE VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES - AGRIGENTO
In less than 40 minutes driving, you can reach one of the most suggestive attraction of Sicily: the Valley of the Temple. It rises in the southern part of the old city of Agrigento and is considered the biggest archaeological park in the world. Among a blooming almond trees countryside, the wonderful ruins of the temples, whose architectural majesty is still intact, will fascinate you.
This archaeological marvel consists of eight temples built in the 5th century BC: the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Heracles, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Temple of Castor and Pollux, the Temple of Hephaestos, the Temple of Demeter, and the Temple of Asclepius (the God of Medicine). The last one is situated on the banks of the Akragas river, all the others are in the same area on a rocky scarp in the southern modern Agrigento.
The Valley of the Temples is the most sublime evidence of the Greek civilization in Sicily until today and it has been an Unesco world heritage site since 1998.
