Weekend getaway

It was a last minute decision to book, as for once, none of us had a prior commitment. What a brilliant place to reconnect with family. Had an "unplugged" weekend, walking along the seafront, playing games in the garden and immersing ourselves in the hot tub. Total bliss, already looking to do a repeat!

The Famous Five

This is a beautiful property, immaculately kept with very comfortable beds. Spacious with a large cosy lounge. The Christmas tree and flap jack were perfect touches! The bedding and towels were of very high quality. The barn and hot tub is a perfect retreat for both friends and family alike. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

60th birthday family get together

Absolutely amazing place to stay, so peaceful and home from home feel. Photos really don't do it justice, I couldn't recommend it more, we will definitely be back. Just a short ride into town, or a little further to neighbouring towns. Not too far away from flamingo land, a great location and beautiful accommodation. Don't hesitate to book it, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic stay!

Ryan and Rachel were wonderful hosts, the property was absolutely stunning, there was plenty to do/see in the local/surrounding areas (10min drive to the seafront!) and we had a brilliant time. We will definitely be back again soon!

Hassle free booking and good communication from the owners. We are 4 generation family group of 7 adults and 2 kids - we had oodles of space, loved the hot tub after a day out and about, the barn had everything we could possible need. Lovely peaceful location- great family seaside holiday

Fantastic property with fantastic hosts!

Check-in couldn't have been easier. The property was spotless and the owners were great. We had a wee problem with one of the showers and when we reported it to the owner, the shower was replaced. Now that's what I call service which summarises our whole experience. I highly recommend this property.

What a stunning property

We couldn’t have enjoyed our break in Hornsea any more...and Barley Edge made it ...such a great base...so good we couldn’t wait to get back each day...the barn was furnished to the highest standard and everything considered...even the small thoughtful touches...plastic wine glasses for the wonderful hot tub...will definitely be back and sending many thanks to the Voase family...superb!

Last minute break

This was a lovely last minute short break. There was everything needed for all the family to relax and enjoy the break. It is very well equipped and spacious with a good private outside area. We took full advantage of the hot tub (and got lucky with the weather).This is a good base for getting out and about and exploring the wider areas. I received excellent support from Ryan the owner and I would definitrly recommend it for anyone looking for a place to stay with family and or friends and would love to return in the future.

Weekend birthday break

Lovely accommodation extremely clean ,very warm with Underfloor heating so we never used real fire . Lovely hottub very private overlooking field used it in pouring rain with brollies over us and in lovely sunshine . Take your own towels for hottub . . 4 adults stayed . It sleeps 10 with 3 bathrooms .The owners live on site and very helpful if needed . Plenty of kitchen equipment . No games / books etc due to covo 19 Restrictions take your own which we did and fleecy wraps if you like them though it was so warm you don’t need them . . Really comfy beds . Did walk around the Mere couldn’t get near edge and tried to drive to where boats are but just couldn’t find a way to it as the boat club entrance was closed . Lots of geese flying across garden which was lovely . Not much in Hornsea but went to Beverly on way home which is lovely . A very chill weekend you can do as little or as much as you like . Ideal for couples and families .

Fabulous Week

Wow - what a week we had, we were lucky with the weather, but even luckier with our choice of accommodation. The barn was beautiful, spotlessly clean, with everything you could ask for. We were a group of 10 age 17- 50 and there was something for everyone. Plenty of space so we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other, the hot tub was great, checked every morning by our lovely hosts, and used everyday by us! Plenty of crockery never short of anything, really was a home from home. We will definitely be back, beautiful surroundings, and a great base for anyone wanting a break away on the east coast.

Everything you need for a brilliant holiday !!

9 people aged 2 to 62 had a brilliant time at Barley Edge !!! Olga (the owners mum ) is a Star !!!she gave us a warm welcome a guided tour of the property and some local tourist info !! The delicious welcome flapjacks would not be approved of by weighwatchers !! The outdoor space was perfect for the kids !! Plenty of space to run around .......and of course the hot tub was a hit with the grown ups !!! This is a perfect base for a holiday in Yorkshire !!!
