We had an amazing stay, and look forward to coming back. Mike and Dow are exceptional hosts, and the home was a perfect place for our family to stay, relax, and enjoy the area.
Great stay in a home my grandfather had built for his family in 1902. Wonderful family home with lovely garden and sea views. Spacious and perfect a large gathering. The photos do not do the house justice.

I have lived in this beautiful home since 1985,and it was with great delight that we learnt of its history since 1902 from the granddaughter of the first owner of the property. Needless to say they faultless in looking after the property during their stay.
The property was absolutely perfect for our group of 12 golfers aged 45-70..
Host Mike and Dow were great - we asked if we could access the house early - and they were very accommodating ..
A pleasure to stay here .
Thank you
Great house. Plenty of room for 7 guys on a golf trip. Beautiful backyard. Plenty of the everyday necessities like glasses and such. Would have been nice to know that the room with the two twin beds was extremely small, but every other bedroom was huge. We made it work. Would definitely stay again.
My family and I had a wonderful stay in Troon. The house was perfect for what we wanted and we were made to feel very welcome by Dow and Michael. Highly recommend
Excellent location across from the beach.
Large house suits our family needs, beautiful garden space. Will return again, thanks Mike and Dow for being very hospitable.

We had a lovely few days in Mike and Dow's home in Troon. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to the beach across the road. The garden was fantastic, and perfect shelter when the wind picked up a bit! Thanks for having us!
Family arrived from all parts of the globe to attend a wedding in a local castle
We were all bowled over by this lovely house & garden
The weather was great the whole 4 days & as the house was on the beach road we were able to spend time on the beach too
I would thoroughly recommend this house for a large group as the facilities & space inside were second to none

Plenty of room
It is a beautiful house and the garden is stunning. Some of the rooms could do with updating and some painting needs to be done but overall it was lovely. The only downside was the driveway is shared with the owner, we managed to squeeze 3 cars on the drive but watch out for bin day as you have to re-shuffle cars. All in all it's a lovely place to stay.
The Gables is a superb 19th Century Victorian Villa with many original features. With stunning panoramic view across the Firth of Clyde to isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig and the heads of Ayr. As well as glorious sunsets across the sea. Perfect for family and friends to get together, for golfers and for people wishing to visit many of Ayrshire attractions. Great for Christmas and New year Celebrations.
