Lovely Cottage with plenty of amenities and plenty of space for our large family. Even rained one day and everyone was still comfortable and able to play numerous games. Very nice place and are excited to return
Ryan was immediately responsive to my questions. We were very comfortable in the cottage. We had everything we needed. Suggestions:
Get the well water treated
Might want to update some of the pots and pans
Could use upgraded kitchen table seating, the chairs weren’t the most comfortable
Overall, very nice place!
It's a little hard to write this review... Because honestly I don't want this place to get super popular. However, I also want this place around for years to come... So here goes.If you're looking for the ideal place to fit your whole family, this is it. In fact, we could've invited our friends and their kids as well and still had plenty of room (which we're already talking about a group trip next time). All the renovations they did this past year are amazing. The garage has been converted to a spare room with bunk beds, a pull out couch, an extra fridge, and extra storage. There are 3 full bathrooms, including one in the wet bar area which is right off the back patio... Perfect for coming in off the boat or inside from swimming. We LOVED the "beer garden" area out back, especially when it rained and we could keep fishing and hanging outside without getting soaked! There is plenty of seating out there for any activity, and a good area in the lawn for whatever lawn games you bring (Cornhole, Hillbilly Golf, etc). The wetbar was so nice to be able to store drinks close to outside, and have seating to eat, snack, talk, and sip your coffee in the morning. The living room was so roomy, yet comfy. We loved watching movies together with the amazing sound system cuddled up on the couchesNot enough room to properly brag about this place, but our family fell in love and we cannot wait to come back!
Great host, great house, great location. Our family of all mixed ages spent the week and enjoyed every minute! Open floorplan allows for everyone to be together for meals and games...back porch gives a nice option for a little separation with amazing views. You can't beat walking into your backyard and getting on your boat...or stepping down into the water. Nice and shallow by the house so easy for all the kids to play. Would definitely recommend this home to others looking for a fun, relaxing getaway with gorgeous views!
Excellent! Best experience we've ever had on a vacation!
The cottage was so nice, large and stocked with everything we needed!! T.V in every room! Towels, bedding, dishes, Pots and pans, silver ware , games for the children. On the lake front ! I hope we can rent it every year! The owner is so nice and helpful. YOu can call him anytime! loved it!!!!!!
The property had many extras to enjoy. Very clean, well kept house with a nice layout and high end furnishings. The pocket door to divide the sleeping area from the living area would have been beneficial, so I wish I would have noticed it earlier. The extra refrigerator was helpful. We enjoyed the fireplace on the cool days.
Had a great time at the lake. Great location and great house!!! Hope to do again next year.

Home away from home!
I cannot say enough about the time we stayed here. I have never been anywhere on vacation that felt like I was at home. The owners are accommodating, impeccable and outstanding. Not one single problem from the moment we contacted them to the time we received our deposit back. Staying here brought me back to a time where family met once a year at the family home. There is not a better place at the lake to stay, as a matter of fact, as long as we are allowed we will be back every year to this wonderful home.....

Great house on the lake
Thank you for allowing us to stay at Long Island! Even tho our vacation started out rough we still really enjoyed the house! The living room was a great area to hang out and relax in with plenty of room! We used the kitchen everyday and everything we needed was available (little unorganized) and ready to use. Looking forward to another stay. Thank you again Ryan for allowing us to make memories with our kids at the house on the lake.

Wonderful Rental on Long Island
This house offered a perfect lakefront location for fishing, dining, and relaxing.
The cottage is a relatively recent build with everything needed to make the renter feel at home. The beds were comfortable and the window air conditioners did a great job keeping us cool. Lastly, Ryan was great to work with - He made the rental process a breeze.
We intend to rent this property again.

Just as advertised - Awesome place !
We absolutely loved this house! The great room was spacious and well appointed - nice big plasma TV, 2 dinning tables, 4 couches, etc. - plenty of room for all. The sound system was fantastic, inside and outside speakers with all sorts of subscription channels available, the kids loved it. The bedrooms were large and very nice, each with plenty of closet and drawer space. The attached garage with two sets of bunk beds was perfect for the younger kids - it gave them their own space away from the noise of the great room, along with a nice TV for their video games. The second fridge in there was a bonus as well.
We spent most of our time in the back yard right on the lake. During the day we played cornhole (a bean bag toss game) on the spacious lawn, rode our bikes around the island, and fished off the dock. We brought our own 18' bass boat for fishing the open water and a smaller runabout with just a trolling motor that was perfect for fishing the canal right around the house. The dock was big enough for both of those PLUS a covered slip with boat lift, and 2 personal watercraft lifts. Every night we had a fire (firewood was readily available a couple miles away on the way to the IGA), and the screened in porch was perfect for playing cards. All in all, we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay here.
We used to go to Dale Hollow for summer vacation, but I think we may have changed that...
