Just an old apartment in an old house. You're not renting the hilton..... the apt has everything you need good bed clean sheets and a hot shower. The location is awesome the views cannot be beat . The manager "Charlie" is readily available and an overall super guy. His dog Laney i think was her name was equally awesome. We stayed a full week enjoyed every day of it. Would definitely recommend it.

From the owner: "Thank you. I'm glad we were the most convenient place for you to attend your daughter's wedding. We had fun with my Lab, and she had fun too! Looking forward to more visits from you!!"
Property is exactly as described and is very quaint. I love the fact that an older home is being repurposed instead of torn down.
The bed was comfy, coffee pot works and coffee on the deck was fantastic… watching fishermen and boaters on the lake, listening to nature and feeling the sun. We did not use the kitchen as we had day trips away from the property and with family but the kitchen is adequately stocked for minimal cooking.
Finding a rental in this area, at a reasonable price and a comfy bed really made my trip !!

From the Owner: "Thank you for recognizing the effort we put into making it a great choice. You found the reasons we made it a vacation rental."
The property was fine. Heat worked. Need to improve how to get to unit 1. Some updates like outlets. The one in bedroom had to be wriggled to get it to work. Overall nice area

From the Owner: "Thank you, Evelyn. I’ll have housekeeping look into that. Glad you liked what we did!"
I liked being close to Pine Creek Grove and Corning Glass museum. Everywhere we drove was gorgeous. We started in Allentown, PA. The restaurants were good and close.
Finding this place was dicey, total darkness. We drove up a driveway, and yes, that was it. There are lights next to the bldg but where were the streetlights? It was dark enough to see the stars. The inside was dumpy but I don't care because the bed was good and a full sized refrigerator. We heard a little noise from the other apartments but it didn't interfere with our sleep. We picked the place because it was near the GRAND CANYON OF PA, which is gorgeous, no pun intended.

Wouldn’t recommend to a friend
We found the location of the property to be as it was advertised. However it was difficult to find at first as there was only a very small marker with the property number at the foot of the hill; you could not see the building from the road. I would recommend a light next to the marker; turning onto the dirt road up to the building was almost impossible to see at night.
The building has 3 apartments in it , numbered 1, 2, and 3. Our reservation confirmation did not indicate which apartment number was ours-it would be helpful to others to include that going forward.
Inside the apartment was not too bad. The furniture was more vintage but acceptable. Couch was very comfortable. When we first walked in we noticed an odd smell. We soon realised that it was the well water which had a very strong sulfer smell. We didn’t drink it or cook with it but did bathe in it. It flared up my husband’s psoriasis so that he was uncomfortable for much of our trip.
Overall we give this property a 1-star rating.

Hi Sharon, we’re sorry that your stay did not go as planned. The owner has some information to share with you: “We appreciate your review, as we constantly strive to make everyone's stay as pleasant as possible. I wish I had heard from you to rectify the situation with the water, as there's a filter that corrects it. The maintenance crew may not have realized that it was due to be changed, but a phone call gets them right away. The confirmation email has the unit number and lockbox code, so we’re sorry that you missed that. We also just had the highway department do some work and I didn't know that they removed some markers, but those have been put back. We will endeavor to earn your business again in the future. Thank you for your input.”
The building has three apartments and I rented apartment 1. The unit was clean, the yard was well maintained, although mosquito infested. The bed is comfortable. However, the apartment has the following shortcomings:
1) damp must odor. The unit needs a de humidifier and some air fresheners
2). The building has very low water pressure. If you shower, before you finish (5 minutes tops) the water trickles out of the shower head. Same is true for kitchen water.
3). The building has no internet service and no cable television. Local stations only.
The building is in a remote location. If privacy and quiet is your goal, this is a good place. It’s very close to a large lake making it convenient for boaters and fishers.
This unit would attract more customers if the owner would correct these issues. I don’t know whether the water problem can be fixed. Without these corrections, I would be reluctant to stay there again.

Hi Charles, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:
- We're not sure why there would be a ’damp’ odor but will look into this for future guests
- We would have been able to act on this during your stay had you mentioned it in our correspondence
- The water pressure could have been fixed as well in a matter of hours, which was done during the following guests' stay, by the cleaning crew
- We never advertised internet access and will make sure the listing is accurate in its description of the TV/cable
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!
