About this property
FAMILY FUN ON THE FARM
If you would like a quiet country setting then look no further. Bring your family or friends and enjoy a stay on the farm. This rental will sleep 14 comfortably. There is plenty of room inside and outside with parking for boats and campers, as well as one hookup for a camper. Even though this is not a working farm we do work with a local farmer for tours on their farm. Please let us know at time of reservation if that is something you are interested in. Need a place to hold your event? The BARN is ready!
If you are looking for a nice country setting to have a family reunion, special birthday party, work related events, class reunions or small weddings we have the facility to meet your needs. There will be a catering option coming. Please call 641-425-4282 for information. It will hold 75 to 85 people. We have the table, chairs, and linens. We have other decorating items you may use for a small fee.
Our home has all of the amenities you will need to enjoy with family and friends complete with a grill, firepit, soaking tubs, fireplaces and ping pong. My favorite spot outside is sitting around the firepit with a glass of wine or beer. How many of you like to look at the stars? We have the perfect spot to stargaze. The kids enjoy catching fire flies especially in June. If you are interested in day trips there is plenty to see and do in the area. Fishing, hiking, bike trail, swimming, hunting, snowmobiling and golfing to name a few. Pheasant hunting has become a great draw for our guests. We have guests from Alabama and South Carolina come every year in November just to hunt. You might even consider Deer Season which is the first part of December. While in town you will want to check out our Windsor Theater as well as the many small shops and restaurants. Check out Franklin County Tourism for events happening in the area during your stay.
If you are up for a longer day trip we are only 30 minutes from Clear Lake, 50 minutes from Ames and 1 hour from Waterloo. There are so many things to explore if you haven't been to North Central Iowa. The Grotto is one of my favorite at West Bend, Iowa. It is about an hour away. Let us know what your interests are and we can help with suggestions.
Our home was built in 1921 by our ancestors. Over the years we have updated and now it is a special place for families and friends to make memories. We hope you will decide to stay with us. You never know what you might find on the farm. Hope to see you soon!

House was very clean. It was exactly what our group needed with 6 bedrooms. Would be a great place for a family reunion as there is a lot of space outside to hang out. Would recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay. A couple things to note, this is an cute farmhouse and is only about 5 minutes off of 35. My kids had a blast running to all the different rooms trying to decide which one they wanted to claim. Although it is not a newer home, the owners have done a great job making sure it has modern amenities like USB/USB-c plugs in most if not all bedrooms and Rokus and smart TVs. If arriving at night, there is a barn with beautiful lighting that they use for events and can be seen from the road to help you locate the driveway.Property is seemed well maintained with no shortage of soaker tubs. We had one issue when a CO2 detector battery was dying in early morning, beeping every minute to warn us. The owners answered when I called, were apologetic, and let me know how to remove it from the wall. I have no doubt that this was a fluke which is why I still think it deserves 5 stars. I have no doubt they take pride in their property and was very happy that they answered when I called so we could quickly resolve the problem.
We visited to have some down time. It was a great place to do that. We appreciated all the little details to make the stay comfortable. We were a small group. But it would be great for a large group/family.
Very beautiful house lots of room and Nice and quiet in the beautiful country. Great place to have a family get-together or a weekend away with your kids
This was the second time we stayed at this house and had a family gathering there. We all grew up visiting our grandparents’ farm and staying here brings back wonderful memories. The house is clean and well appointed. We loved staying there!
Perfect farmhouse. The Barn and catering options were top drawer! I would give an 11 if I could. Only downside was the weather, which couldn’t be helped
The driveway and walkway were shoveled. Check-in was simple and easy. Plenty of room for everyone. The house was well stocked with towels, linens, and housewares. Every room had its own bathroom. We will definitely stay there again!
It was a beautiful house super roomy beds were great i can not say enough great things about the property and the owners super friendly and just made our trip even better i would recommend this to anyone .
Great place. House is perfect for larger groups. Great to each have bathrooms. Extra frig very helpful. Goats were a joy for kids to care for. Hosts brought us to a larger goat and chicken farm for kids to enjoy...thank you so much!
We stayed here so we could celebrate the holidays with family that lives nearby. We loved everything about this place. There was plenty of space. The home had several cozy places to relax and read. The home is very clean and all the details are taken care of. The home is beautifully decorated. The hosts were very kind and communicative. We highly recommend this home!

Relaxing, comfy, cozy
We had a family get together and the house was perfect! Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, large kitchen. It was a little closer to the highway than I thought it would be, but the yard was big enough to set up the kids mini bouncy house and we had a fire in the fire pit. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was a great place for a quiet retreat! We had stormy weather, so we didn't get to use the fire pit as planned, or spend as much time outside, but it was spacious, comfortable, and perfect inside. The only downside was that the house has been smoked in at some point, so the lingering smell of smoke along with air fresheners was a bit strong at times.
This was a great property for our family. Plenty of space inside. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. We had 9 adults and 3 children under 10. We played yard games and catch in the big yard. We explored and shopped in nearby Hampton. Our host even called us in the evening to alert us to upcoming storm warning. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
This house was great with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We had a party of 12 and everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen had most of what we needed. Our kids enjoyed the rec room and played lots of ping pong. The house listing says it has hot tubs/whirlpool tubs, but really they are just the claw foot bathtubs in the regular bathrooms. Everything else was great!

Awesom family getaway with great hosts
Our family of 6 adults and 5 children ranging from baby to 5 year old enjoyed a long weekend at Country Heritage. From the time we booked the property to the time we checked out our hosts were gracious, responsive and available if needed. House was clean with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and common spices. Large, well kept yard provided great place for kids and adults to play. Kids loved the goats! Weather was hot when we were there, but inside was well air conditioned and comfortable. Nice firepit outside with wood provided. 4 miles from little town of Hampton which had a great zero depth aquatic center and great County Fair. Easy to get to off I-35. We would recommend this to other large families and we would definitely come back to this place if our family can arrange it.
